Yes, I read a related article, I found it interesting that the authors considered the structure to reflect the influence of Christian centralised communal worship and architecture on pre Christian worship.

I thought that an interesting take as well. Depending on the age of the temple, I am sure it's a possibility. The only other Temple I have heard of is at Upsala.

Hildeburh, I'm curious, and I don't mean to be offensive in any way, why do you spell the religion "Frynsidu"? I was of the opinion that it is spelled "Fyrnsidu".
