By looking at history and at the world, we can see that there're some religions' founders/leaders/members who would write/find books which they say it's their religions' holy books. Inside it, it writes that their religions' gods order people to pratice slavery, racism, misogyny and/or any other immoral/evil/barbaric behaviours.

They then try to control country's laws, so as to allow them to legally practice those immoral/evil/barbaric behaviours.


Why are they doing that?
What's wrong with their conscience?

Err, I disagree with using religion as a tool to oppress people. And I can agree that pretty much every religion on earth has been used to justify horrible actions at some point in time, somewhere.
Because it’s easier to get people on board if “God commands it.”
But if you want to get into a tit for tat argument, well no one’s hands are pure in that regard. So that won’t end well.

I used to think the authority of God supercedes the authority of man. Many believed it, few went and challenged it. When it came right down to the nitty gritty, I discovered it to be a two way street with sporadic gains and losses.

Social dominants and aristocrats -- the rich and powerful -- need to keep the masses in line. Instilling a hierarchical social narrative and an alternative, deontological sense of right and wrong -- a religious narrative -- keeps them passive as they're exploited.

Religion is the opiate of the masses.

Wow, the whole question being asked is soooo loaded with bias, that it is impossible for me to reply in a succinct manner. I think the reason you aren't participating in the discussion is because for you the OP was more a way for you to vent your hatred of religion, than to ask a real question.
