in matthew 7:12 jesus supposedly speaks of self in relationship to other as self and how the whole Law and the prophets hang on this one idea.

why is there no mention of god in this equation? is it implicitly understood?

and is matthew 22:36-40 a reiteration of the golden rule?

Is this the Way? leviticus 19:34

Yeah I would say it is. A prophet sort of requires a God to be true and God is the creator of the law.

It could be related, but I don't think this is what it really means. I would personally assume that this have something to do with trading and that the Israelites should treat strangers/foreigners (traders) well, because they as everyone else would have relied on goods. So if the Israelites got a reputation of robbing and killing them, they would probably avoid going there for business.

it isn't understood that the lord is with(in) the being observed?

so you don't agree with malachi 2:10

Not sure what you mean?
in the 2nd version of the WAY, or LAW, the first verse says“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

if then self does this whole loving, what is left if all that love goes to an externalized lord thy god? there is nothing left for thy neighbor because all was spent on something externalized labeled god and not thy neighbor. how then can the second be like the first unless my neighbor was god? 1 John 4:20

unless loving god is loving self 1st because you are god and loving neighbors(gods) secondly because god is something within self that loves all images of god infinitely/unconditionally, you are all gods, children of the most high?

1 corinthians 13:12

i found god at the table, she was serving spaghetti this time.
i smiled. she smiled. her children sat with us. we ate. we talked. we argued.
she asked me where heaven was. i told her, "Here with God". she relented.

come gather together for the great supper of god

2 corinthians 4:6
revelation 1:16
revelation 10:1
2 Corinthians 3:18

god smiled

Translation: Sound of the wheel is rolling down and up,
Stuck carriages are going and rolling
Sound of melodies is rolling down and up,
Travelling around the world.
Sound of horn lasts all the way down the stairs,
Rolling the wheel around.
That is the voice,
That is the voice
Of the wheel going up and down.

self is the bucket, the well spring springing up to everlasting. the hidden manna, the eternal well spring

the fountain of youth

10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”

16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”

17 “I have no husband,” she replied.

Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”

19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

No clue how that is suppose to be related to anything we are talking about. :)

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down,
the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they're better left unsung
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty
If your cup is full may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of men
There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way
I would take you home
