Certain Jewish leaders had accused Jesus of blasphemy because he was son of God. However, Jesus showed them their own ignorance of the Scriptures by pointing out that mortal men could be called Gods when the word of God had come by them. Therefore, their accusation that Jesus was claiming to be God by being son of God was false.
Even Moses was made God to Pharaoh when God's word had come to Pharaoh by Moses.
Exo 7:1 And Yahweh said to Moses, "See, I have made you God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother will be your prophet.
Jesus actually said:
"Isn't it written in your law, 'I said, you are gods?'
John 10:34
Not the same as you say. And he was referring to this:
I said, "You are gods, All of you are sons of the Most High. Nevertheless you shall die like men, And fall like one of the rulers."
Psalms 82:6-7
He was not speaking of all people. It was probably about this group:
God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods.
