Major explosion in Beirut

Lebanon’s president has not ruled out the possibility that a series of powerful explosions in the Port of Beirut were caused by a rocket or a bomb. The authorities previously stated that the ammonium nitrate stash had detonated.
“The cause has not been determined yet. There is a possibility of external interference through a rocket or bomb or other act," Aoun said, as cited by local media.

'No cache, no nothing': Hezbollah leader denies storing weapons at Beirut port at center of explosion -

“I would like to absolutely, categorically rule out anything belonging to us at the port. No weapons, no missiles, or bombs or rifles or even a bullet or ammonium nitrate,” said Nasrallah, according to the Times of Israel. “No cache, no nothing. Not now, not ever.”

President Trump said the US would assist in investigating the cause of the massive explosion that rocked Beirut — and acknowledged the “peaceful protesters” in Lebanon calling for government accountability, the White House said Sunday.

The president, in a call with world leaders, “urged the Government of Lebanon to conduct a full and transparent investigation, in which the United States stands ready to assist,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said in a statement.

Exclusive: Lebanon's leaders warned in July about explosives at port - documents

World News August 11, 2020

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Lebanese security officials warned the prime minister and president last month that 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in Beirut’s port posed a security risk and could destroy the capital if it exploded, according to documents seen by Reuters and senior security sources.

Just over two weeks later, the industrial chemicals exploded in a massive blast that obliterated most of the port, killed at least 163 people, injured 6,000 more and destroyed some 6,000 buildings, according to municipal authorities.

A report by the General Directorate of State Security about events leading up to the explosion included a reference to a private letter sent to President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Hassan Diab on July 20.

Now does that not ring alarm bells for everyone? Lebanese security officials warned, and included a private letter sent to President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Hassan Diab on July 20. about the dangers of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in Beirut’s port posed a security risk and could destroy the capital if it exploded, and viola, two weeks later it exploded (after it had been stored there for six years without a problem)..

So I don't believe in blind coincidences, take your pick MIHAP or prescience?

They have been aware and warned of the danger for several years.

And until a full, unbiased report on the reason for the disaster it is no good making guesses.

There is a difference between a blind guess and deductive reasoning.

What hard information are you using for your deductive guess? A letter of concern by people whose job it is to be concerned. People have been concerned and have been informing Lebanon's authorities for several years. Why not one of the previous warnings as opposed to the latest? Oh yes the big bang happened after the latest so it must be significant, or not.

No reliable media is pointing fingers, only the most crazy world leaders are making suggestions (you know who i mean), conspiracy theorists are having a whale of a time and the experts don't know. So you make your deductive guesses, i will wait for the indipendent report by experts
