* What is the Real Truth?
* How do we know if something is the real truth?
* Do you have the guts to reject verses from your Master/Scriptures if they feels wrong?
* Can we rely on our Conscience to know if something is true, and is Conscience sufficient to know The Truth?

Some Truth can be easily proven by Science. When it comes to Spirituality, Science is not always the way to find the answers.
So how do we know if something is true or what is "The Truth"

*) My Master has told us, that we should even reject His statements if they do not correspond to our Conscience. Of course we have to stay vigilent and be willing to accept them again afterwards, IF it turns out that our conscience was wrong, when we rejected them.

*) To reject verses that feel wrong to you, is also advised by the Yoga Vasistha, an Indian Scripture, which I like, because of this honesty (to value our Conscience)

Please feel free to share your views on this or related things. Do you dare to reject verses from your Scripture or Master (Jesus, Boeddha, Shiva, Allah, God....) if they feel bad? Do you rather play safe and skip those? Or do you dare to challenge God and Scriptures, or are you scared to challenge them. Do you fear to be thrown in Hell when rejecting 1 or more verses from your Scripture(s)?

That's why reasoning doesn't convert some people... why would they want to believe in a God that thought they were doing poorly?

Interesting word choice "Reasoning does not work to convert some people".

My Master said "Science is below the mind. Spirituality is above the mind"
I think that He also meant "Reasoning alone does not work to really understand Spirituality"

I fully accept the main teachings of my Advaita beliefs because I think they are right. At the practical matters level things get grey and I use my intelligence following the basic principles.

None of the poll choices fit how I see it.
I have no doubt in the teaching or my master, I do have doubt about my self and how I carry out the practice.

I love "advaita teachings", but to practise all of them is not so easy. So, I guess I don't love them enough, yet.

It seems your master has interest in carving himself a niche where his beliefs are considered as expertise without having to provide any form of tangible results in any other field. If your "spirituality" has no outside use beside itself, it's just another name for fancy bull****.

I have the courage to reject verses from the scriptures I inherited and/or other people’s scriptures if it goes against my conscience, but I haven’t had God tell me to do something against my conscience, so I’m not really sure how that one would play out in practice. :)

ETA I don’t see conscience as an infallible guide, but it sure does seem to be a more reliable guide in mentally competent people than scripture, which at times just seems to be following the conscience of more primitive people.

I see....this seems to you. It seems to me, you have no expertise when it comes to my Master (and His Teachings), but you do have opinions.

I don't have expertise when it comes to your specific master, but I have expertise in spiritual gurus and skeptical inquiries. In other words, I'm a paid expert at debunking supposed wisemen and gurus and yours just tripped a red-flag. That doesn't mean that your guru is a charlatan like som many others, but as he trips more red flags, the probability that he is increases exponentially.

I am thinking we might have a different idea of what 'practicing them' looks like then. To me, it is finding true happiness through right views.

Science does not prove truth. You will not find the word truth used much in science, if at all. Science deals in provisional models , not in any final truth.

I don’t actually think it is possible for us to claim to know truth, and I am highly suspicious of absolute truth claims, including those made by religion. All is shades of grey, dimly perceived by us poor mortals. Now we see through a glass darkly, as St Paul says.

Would be a miracle if we had the same idea of what "practising them" means;)

Sai Baba used to say "pick one you like, and practise this....the rest will follow"

Did you meet any of these gurus yourself, and stayed for a prolonged time, before coming to a conclusion they are fake or not?

While I'd want the real truth, I'm come to accept either there is no real truth or if there is, it will always be out of reach to me.

In your view what is conscience? IS it your rational self-awareness or your deeper unconscious feelings about life?

I guess it's deeper feelings to me because often I was told something by a religious leader and it simply didn't feel right. I guess you find the one that everything they say feels right. I went looking for that person but never found them.

Which 2 gurus did you meet personally?

"Truth" isn't a thing...

I can't make a choice on the poll, because I have no idea what it might mean to refer to "The Real Truth" (the capitilization being courtesy of the OP poster). It seems to imply that there is only one. Thus, if we discover that, for example, gravity is "true," and accept that there is only one "Real Truth," then gravity must be it, and everything else no longer counts.

Please notice what it says under my Handle, above...
