Quick question for everyone

It really depends on what you mean by vampires.

Do you mean hematophiliacs? Do you mean "energy vampires" that are "draining" to have conversations with? Are you talking about vampire bats? Nocturnal noblemen that live in spooky castles and are obsessed with the occult? People who live over 100 years? People who have skin so sensitive that they can't go out during the day due to UV and are hurt by being splashed with water, holy or otherwise? Fans of dark culture? Contemporary magicians that believe they're stealing the life force from other people to use as their own? Serial killers that charm their way into the victim's home? Corpses whose hair and nails appear to continue growing after death?

We use "vampire" to refer to a wide variety of concepts. All of these things above are real. Even in fictional portrayals of vampires, the way vampires work and what they can do are highly variable between works.

If you're asking about mythology, what portion of mythology are you asking about? Vampire myths changed dramatically over time, and some of them are indistinguishable from werewolf myths. Some of them read like accounts of medieval serial killers playing off of the superstition of the community or shocking them with corpse desecration and blasphemy, and those might have some grain of truth to them since that happens still to this day.

Are you talking about the modern conception of somebody that eats only human blood through their fangs, has no body temperature and no beating heart, but nonetheless preys on humans with their super speed and strength despite being easily warded off with garlic? No, that's a fictional creation of contemporary fantasy and horror writers.

It's probably not even physically possible. You would have to drain like 5 humans a day to get enough calories, and without functioning internal organs those nutrients can't circulate that energy to your cells, and that's just their feeding. The strength they portray has the common issue of super strength, where they would push themselves into the ground whenever they use it. The speed would require even more energy to pull off, meaning that they would essentially need to have an almost constant intake (and outtake, to make room for the rest of the intake) of gallons of blood. There's a reason most authors portray vampires as cursed by magic, because without magic vampires don't make a lot of sense.

I've heard that on the low astral plane there are energy vampires who drain people of vitality.

That would make blood drinking fleshed vampires a fictional representation of the astral entities.

Vampire
1. a. (in E European folklore) a corpse, animated by an undeparted soul or a demon, that periodically leaves the grave and disturbs the living. b. any of various popular or literary representations of the folkloric vampire, typically a being that sucks the blood of sleeping persons at night.

At one point in my life I would have said ridiculous. NOW like you, I am thinking they could be something real or something just akin to the definition.

For someone who has expressed a desire to come closer to G-d, you’re expressing a rather bizarre delight at the thought of evil -murder and terror - being unleashed on the innocent.

Does someone want his version of a "cool" God to fit ideas he has gleaned from Hollywood?
He is 31........should we get mad or feel pity....? I give up....
