Why should we care how their upbringing was??? Many peopel come from a background who were beaten, raped, molested and turned out fine. Products of your enviornment is pure crap... if that were the case I would be a card carrying republican! Now when it comes to murder, rape, or molesting children, screw the 3rd offense, they should be killed on the first offense!!!

not everyone is wired the same though! no body has the right to take life hell in my case not even a higher being has that right, life ends when it's meant to, two wrongs a right does not make!

This is merely one situation and does not encompass the whole realm of 'crime' pertaining to that particular law.

You asked for an example of a victimless crime and I gave you one. That situation counts as one as one could be sentenced for doing just that.

Well, being a libertarian I don't believe in drug laws, or speeding laws. The crimes that I am talking about are crimes that affect others(Stealing a car, robbery, fraud, etc) Victimless crimes shouldn't even be on the books as it is!

Under these views, I think there might be something to your suggestion. I mean, if a person KNEW they would be put to death for three strikes, they may not even come to the plate.

So, fellow libertarians, I propose an idea. I think that there should be a law that if a person commits the same crime 3 times (i.e. stealing a car) that they should be put to death. Obviously they are of no use to society, and why waste money keeping them alive knowing that if they ever get out, they will just do it again?
Any thoughts?

What if your compulsive thief is the way he is because of a mental illness, or a defective gene ?

Fair enough.
Though I will say that it is a good thing that the laws are not looked at in such a manner.

Ahh yes. Instead 2 men convicted of continuously sexually assulting a 7 year old girl go to jail. One man gets 12-60 years.... and the other man gets 60 days-3 years. Same crime, same victim, different judges. That judge should be hanged for almost condoning one man to do it!

I don't believe that people should live or die based on whether or not "they are of use to society". What sort of collectivist idea is this?

Bill Gates murdering someone should be the same as some random homeless person murdering someone

You, my friend, have a lot to learn in empathy.
What?

Explain please. You seem to believe there should be some sort of a different standard applied when

1. Bill Gates commits murder.

2. Homeless person commits murder.

To imply one is more deserving of sympathy or leniency than another is morally insupportable.

However if someone is threatening my daughter I will blow their head off with little compunction, and figure it was their time to leave this earth.
