Proof Against Evolution

So if BOTH can't explain the beginning and are "theories", why do we teach one in public schools and not the other?
I hate the whole "its a theory" approach... Pick up a science 101 book and read the part about how much testing a hypothesis needs in order to ever become a theory... Just because people use the term theory to describe ideas does not mean it holds the same definition in science. Evolution has been proven to be true as far as science is concerned and that is why it is a theory. If it was not proven then it would not be considered a theory, it would be a hypothesis.

It could just as easily be argued that evolution is not politically correct in the US.
It could depending on what part of the U.S. you live in. I'm sure this is the case in the "Bible Belt." That's not the case here in Los Angeles. Allow me to explain....

In some schools but not all. All of the public schools that I've attended in Southern California, all required us to learn the theory of evolution. Otherwise, we could not graduate. Religious education courses do not exist in any way, shape or form in our public education system. Theses classes are only offered in private schools which cost about $400.00 a month. And this is because....

Creationism does not qualify as a theory in Science
Creationism is not considered education material. It is considered unintelligent and not P.C.

Science is the dominant "religion" if you will, where I live. Schools make the teaching this belief a requirement to further you education, but not the other. It is often talked down upon in many science classes and this action is considered "ok" to do. I can see how the religious community might be upset.

So the origin of Life is not a theory , it is PROVEN? as your above statement suggest.

creation is a theory- big bang is a theory

don't you think when you teach a child, he should here both sides in PUBLIC school, not just ONE.

And on a side note. notice the more we teach children the come from animals the more the start acting like one. Just go walk through your local public school. They took God out of school a long time ago and what did we get. BIG BANG- guns, cussing teachers, disrespect, fornication, etc, etc., but I am sure one has nothing to do with the other. science can explain it all. :D

As far as this Biologist is aware, creation is NOT a theory, but an idea. If that idea were to be tested repeated and have the same conclusive results, then maybe you'll have something.

Should schools also include the stork theory during sex ed?
How about the theory that humans have been 'planted' on earth by a superior alien race?

Sure, in separate courses, as only one is applicable to science.

A "proven theory" in science is when a theory works with repeated testing.

so they have repeated the origins of life "theory" . explain to me how they PROVED this again?

How about nobody pushes anything and let people decide for themselves what they want to learn instead of forcing it on them. Forcing from either side is bad.

Hi all,
Um, I thought this started out as a "proof against evolution" thread.
Oh and could someone please refresh my memory as far as how to copy a portion of someone elses post to post as a quote. I haven't done anything but read threads for some time now.
Thanks

I wonder how many will ditch math class?
I would have not bothered with history myself, though science and phys ed were fun.

EVOLUTION... not the origin of life... There is a HUGE difference between the two. Jeeze... look up information on what you debate for you do it...

creation is a theory- big bang is a theory
Alright... QUIT changing the meaning of the word theory... Please show me the repeated tests and evidence pointing to creation as a legit scientific theory. Theory has many meanings and you keep changing the way you are using it to try and prove your point. The big bang theory is a scientific theory. Creationism is a theological myth.

don't you think when you teach a child, he should here both sides in PUBLIC school, not just ONE.
If they are not misrepresented in class then yes. Teach creationism in the religious myths class and teach evolution in a science class... The actual workings of the big bang theory shouldn't really be introduced to a normal physics class in high school I think... Possibly if they have an astronomy course.

And on a side note. notice the more we teach children the come from animals the more the start acting like one. Just go walk through your local public school. They took God out of school a long time ago and what did we get. Yes... evolution is the reason kids kill other kids... It has nothing to do with parents spending no time with their children... Of course! School is supposed to be the sole teacher of children! Thats why its so important to keep religion in school... because they can't depend on their parents to teach them.:angel2:

There is no origin of life theory... There are models and hypotheses, but not theories.

And you don't repeat the theory... You repeat the experiments that lead up to the theory... Like we cannot possibly replicate over and over again the complete evolution of human beings... We know that if evolution happens, there should be fossil records documenting this... Is there? Yes. We know that if evolution happens it should still be happening today. Is it? Yes. Based on this evidence and many more pieces of evidence we can conclude that evolution is happening and has happened in the past.

Again... "Origin of life" does NOT equal "evolution". These are two very separate ideas in science and you should wrap your head around that before the debate can continue.

When you are 13 are you really prepared to pick what classes you will attend? Tons of kids would not go to math class and math is an essential class you need starting young and going till at least the end of high school.

Sure, just hit that little quote box at the bottom of their post, and it should open up a reply page with the quote already done for you.

Thank you very much.
Ryan2065 seems to be making some excellent points.

My apologies. I'm from the UK. Religious education is mandatory here.

It's not science.

As far as 'unintelligent' goes it is simply irrational to hold beliefs in ancient mythology against the gradient of available evidence.

Science is certainly not the be all and end all of human scholarship, but you'd think it was from the way creationists strive to have their myths termed 'scientific'.

Good post. Though I fear your hopes are high.

I took a portion of my time in life and devoted it to studying evolution, i like to wiegh propabilities, look at the odds, and see if it is possible in any case.
I would say that given the billions of possablities for divergence of replication in the human genome, and a couple million years. Yup, the odds are definitely stacked in favor of divergence occuring.
