I've heard of Lilith but all I've ever heard about it was that she was the wife of Adam before Eve. I've never heard anything about Lilith being a hermaphrodite or husband to herself.

as for "pretonnoia" - I can find no trace; all I could find is "Trimorphic Protennoia" on http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/trimorph.html, THE GNOSTIC SOCIETY LIBRARY

Because there are no direct references to Lilith or her story in the Bible?

What's untruthful about the Lilith story?

I'm curious Habakuk, if you believe that Holy Spirit first thought of man, do you have any opinion on the myth of Geradamas? And besides that any opinion on the Barbelo - Seth myths?

For those who don't know, Lilith come from Jewish legend (Haggada). A translation of the Haggada can be found at Sacred Texts. Most of it, that is known about her about can be found in Volume 1, Chapter 2 (Adam) of The Legends of the Jews.

(You'll need to do a search/find on "Lilith", since this chapter is fairly long, but it is under a section called "WOMAN".) I think she appeared again a couple more times but in different chapters.

It doesn't say anything about a hermaphrodite.

Correct but for the last bit: in the original myth didn't the Holy Spirit infuse the first created hermaphrodites with Herself, her own powers (spirit, breath)? I have never heard of these authorities to which you refer finishing anything. Altering perhaps? Please elabourate.

Lilith is the antagonist of childbirth in HEBREW mYTH- so she must remain- She that devours her offsprings-

I disagree, as gnostic and Michel have already given sources, people will know that Lilith is a late creation of Jewish scholars who saw Genesis 1 and 2 as two separate stories instread of different versions of the same one - they tried to link Genesis 1 with 2 in a continuous storyline, and so Lilith was born as the first woman, found in Genesis 1, created alongside Adam. Eve is the second woman, of Genesis 2, who was taken from Adam's side.

This is from Thunder, it is not Adam or Lilith speaking but Sophia or Barbelo.

But as you say- Genesis 1 and 2 are writtten by two different scribes- The YHVHist and the Elohist distinctions are clear which make the scholars correct in REINTRODUCE -the female instructor

The two stories most likely originate from different people, but both worshipped El. YHWH worshippers arrived later with Moses.

And, in case you didn't already know, Adam means "humanity" and Eve means "life". They are symbolic of concepts. Lilith wasn't the original Adam before his feminine aspect was removed, Adam has always been humanity.

Ok then, i had thought that i was talking straight, i'll try again.

Lilith is a medieval Jewish myth, created to fuse the contradictory stories of Genesis 1 and 2 together.

Adam is a symbol for humanity as a whole. In Genesis 1 the human characters are unnamed, they are simply "man". "Let us make man in our image"
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them"

Not until the second version of the myth do we find people with names.
God creates man/Adam - the word means the same thing. From his side He made woman, Eve which means life because new life comes from women.
God separated man into male and female, so that they could come back together and make a new man.

As for YHWHist and Elohist. Know then that the people of Canaan called their pantheon Elohim - the gods. El was the head god, like Zeus, Jupiter or Ra. He was an agricultural god.
YHWH is a god of war from a group of semitic peoples who conquered the original inhabitants of Canaan. Over time El was fused with YHWH, and the other Elohim, the Baals and Ashtoreth were eliminated.

The First man who was created was androgynous on the First day- Adam of the Luminous Blood
The Second man- was also hermaphrodite- in the image of the authorities- He is Soul-endowed-
The Third man is created on the Eight Day - this is Adam without "the Rib"

Since I am in the business of prophesy bearing I would like to introduce all to the gnostic Lilith who redeems all the Liliths poisoned by thoughts of revenge against Adam and the archons.

In Mandean Gnostic mythology Lilith Zahriel* the "Great Lilith", is the only one of the several Lilith spirit beings who is transformed when she escapes the world of darkness, i.e, this world of matter, with her husband, Hibil Ziva, or "Radiant Abel", who is the son of the King of Light.

Radiant Abel seeks knowledge of the world of darkness with his alliance with Lilith Zariel. He steals three things from the realm of darkness, a magic mirror, a crown, and a magic pearl. Eleleth is "wisdom" and the Great Angel who stands before the Holy Ghost". Eleleth is the male spiritual counterpart of Lilith Zariel. Eleleth is sent to free Norea from the "hands of the lawless" and to teach about the "Roots" of truth and humanity.

Eleleth is also now spiritually related to the number eleven. This Eleleth spiritual energy can be seen these days in the eleven year solar cycle, in the weird 11:11 clock thing*, and in elevens showing up in odd ways in your life,e.g., an 11 year cycle that makes my son's birthday, who was born on the eleventh of April at Easter which makes his birthday fall on Easter Day every eleven years, and my own birthday, 2/11/44, fall on a multiple of eleven every eleven years of the 20th century.

*This was written before 9-11 happened.

Before sexual differentiation in human zygotes, those zygotes are essentially androgynous.

As fetuses become sexual dimorphised (is that the correct term?), male sexual organs essentially develop from female sexual organs. (Ever wonder why men have nipples?) Humans are actually less sexually dimorphic than other species.

In a sense, female is the default sex of the human species.
