Another What-If

Which part of post #37 was factually incorrect?
" VERY high risk since quite a few of our soldiers could be killed" U.S. Navy personnel, in this case SEALS, are not soldiers

Good enough to convince me that you'll dodge hard questions when the answers don't support your party.

Please expand your statement since I have no idea what you are attempt to say.

I will freely admit that I disagreed with about just every thing that President Obama did or said; however in the case of his decision to sanction the Osama bin Laden operation I strongly agreed with. Now if this operation had gone side-ways he probably would have paid a heavy price for his decision just like President Carter's decision for the attempted rescue of the Iranian hostages.

Now for the what-if.
If Biden had been president Osama bin Laden would probably still be alive today since Biden strongly disagreed with the operation. Now, we don't know why Biden objected to the raid; was it for political reasons? As I previously stated, if the operation had gone side-ways a heavy political price would have probably been paid. We know that most politicians care little for the lives of our service members, what they care about is their own political lives. So the answer to the question: "was Biden's decision based on political reasons"; the answer is yes.
I don't find such "what if" questions useful What if frogs had wings?

sanc·tion
/ˈsaNG(k)SH(ə)n/
noun
noun: sanction; plural noun: sanctions
official permission or approval for an action.

Yes
Thanks, esmith.

Frankly, I think the whole 9/11 affair was used as a convenient excuse to promote a Neo-Con agenda.
Bin Ladin was just a political pawn He was politically useful.

I'm surprised no-one/s brought up the Taliban's offer to surrender bin Laden for trial -- on more than one occasion. Why no criticism of Bush's quiet rejection of these offers, and continued promotion of the military adventure under false pretenses?

You mean this offer?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/aponline/20011014/aponline135016_000.htm
A senior Taliban leader said Sunday that the Islamic militia would be willing to hand over Osama bin Laden to a third country if the United States halts the bombing of Afghanistan and provides evidence against him.

Before the start of the air campaign, the Taliban had demanded evidence of bin Laden's involvement in the attack and had offered to try him before an Islamic court inside Afghanistan – proposals that the United States promptly rejected.

Kabir's offer came a day after the Taliban's supreme leader rebuffed a "second chance" given by Bush for the Islamic militia to surrender bin Laden to the United States. In a blistering statement, Mullah Mohammed Omar said there was no move to "hand over anyone" and accused the United States of killing Afghans.

His handling of Libya was fairly awful.

That being said, he has expressed regret and remorse of the aftermath from what I can tell, partially blaming himself. His accountability and calmness make him nearly a born leader. I'd trust him to run a business, and I'd also maybe trust him to be able to man a country.

It's well known the Bush family had Saudi ties. Heck, they even let 30 members of the Bin Laden family flee America days after 9/11. I believe tax payers paid for it.

Interesting point. I don't know about who paid for it, but in the days following the 9/11 disaster American airspace was closed to all flights with the exception of the US military and Saudi Arabia.
