Describe your weather / mood of the outdoors today

34 degrees here in the midwest, and the sun is going down now. About 20 minutes ago I saw that about half the sky was filled with a roving snow cloud, the underbelly of which was a dark periwinkle with an orange sun garnish, and which beset the scene with sporadic and intense little flurries. Several migratory birds have catapulted in, visiting each tree for about 4 seconds before blasting off again. I see the yellow daffodils covered in a dusting of snow. I think I will stay in though, not in the mood to feel the wind

Hmmm, most of today was a light 61°F, no trace of clouds in the sky, except a ring around the summit of our largest volcano. Cloudless days are a rarity here. There was a light breeze of which you could smell fresh grass and pines. All around birds were singing and flitting amongst themselves, or screaming in the case of our lovely crows.

Got to about 24 today (Celcius) so that's...err...80 I think.
Not that I got out of my home office for more than 15 minutes...lol

Kids started home school today (they've been at home last three weeks on holidays, today they had work, vidcalls, etc).
Went pretty smoothly all things considered.

What, with so little traffic, nice to see so many families out on their bicycles - but I doubt that will continue once we are released from our cages. o_O

"Be strong", I whispered to my coffee.

Beautiful sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, very light, warm breeze here in the valley, temperature currently 21c (79f) and expected to reach 25c (77f) by 16h00.

We've been locked down for a month, the kids have been getting 1 hours TV education per day and up to 10 minutes chat with their teachers. At least hubby and i can share a few hours each day firy home schooling.

But, Easter break and TV and teacher don't start until tomorrow.

Anyone have any advice (short of throttling) on how to keep cabin crazy kids quiet?

It's snowing here in the Detroit area, so are you happy you brought this up?

Getting sunnier out now, was 27 F this morning, but it is somewhat warmer now that it is almost nightfall. The winds are tempered by the warmth of the sun, which stay back winter. The snow has all now melted, though before doing so, it coalesced on the ground into a pebble-like universe among old pine needles. Mud makes its cameo in various places, and birds continue in their chorus.

My phone says 79 now, and I guess that sounds about right. I had tried to get a half hour of meditation in earlier, out by the old stand of red pines. I stared down for a while at the springing green things, feeling the sun lightly cook me, but snapped out of it when packs of ants ascended my arms. That, and a pair of loud motorists were agitating me from the old road below. Consequently, I decided to relocate up the hill a ways. Now I sat down again with less distraction. This time it was a bird that took my attention, fluttering in bush to the right. Lo and behold, it was the scarlet tanager, a bright orange fireball of a bird, with a bit of black. Every year I see it once at this time

High of 90 today, the air and light are in turgid layers. Too hot for me to properly read I think, so I close the book, and lay here doing nothing instead. Yesterday was hot as well, on the 4rth of July. I had wandered into the graveyard on the hill here, that I live across from, and sat on some rusty cage of a bench that was embedded into the ground. I had neglected to notice this particular seat before for some reason. In any case, the still night sky became a panoramic of explosions and color, and moonlit smoke. In recent years, it seems that the town barely needs a main show, as it seems like everyone is starting to have their own.

Maybe tonight when the sun is setting, I'll start to wander toward the river marsh. I imagine the trails there would be just as much of a 'frustrating tangle' as they were several weeks before, but the wildness ensures solitude. I suppose I want some quiet mind space before heading back to the whirring factory on monday

Tired today , from being on 3rd of course, but the perfect summer day implored me to remain awake, and eventually take a walk
To the woods
In my ear, a wireless earbud ranting politics
Eventually I stopped the cursed thing, and just listened to my surroundings
Came down to some deer as usual, a young buck, a fawn, and mother, by the wind-mill

I thought that perhaps I ought to find a place to meditate, hadn't done that in a while
However I was tired, and am tired.. probably up for over 24 hours
I got to a thick spot on the hill edge, and sat
In exchange for this, a volley of sticky pickers, and a light spat of mosquitoes

Then the light purple, gold orange clouds
decorated the space in-between big trees
and gold shadows struck the jungle of machinery down below
At that moment I was glad
and my stupor seemed to fit the situation somehow

Reflecting on the early morning conditions a couple days ago... I have been enjoying my week off with some early morning walks , in place of working. Got out about 5:40 or so, before the sun was up .. timing it so I would be at a nice woodsy overlook at sunrise, facing the sun. I had turned on a podcast at the start .. but within 10 minutes I had to turn it off, and I had take off my hat in fact.. (which then fell out of my coat pocket , to be recovered later). I was simply stunned by the windless silence of the world, and the clouds and earth, which had taken on a deep and dreamy purple. I could hear a mere piece of frost, bending randomly some yards off.. The clouds were a massive and silent purple quilt, allowing minds to stir with dreams .
