Hi all,

I can't remember the last time I posted in this forum, but I just wanted to say 'Hey, I'm back', and with a new look, and this seemed the best place to say this. Done a lot more soul-searching. And my mental health is in a better place. Gone for good are my old-time Gnostic leanings. I've gone back to my Sufi Muslim roots.

Look forward to interacting with some of you on these forums again soon,

TFK

I totally remember you. Welcome back :) We participated in a thread about the Qur'an together. I think it was immediately following the NZ Terror attack.

Welcome back.

Which tariqa, sufi order, are you a member of or interested in?

I'm a bit confused. I'm familiar with the Chisti order as well as to a lesser degree the Inayati, Mevlevi and Naqshbandi. But your identification is new to me

All orders trace their lineage back to the Holy Prophet (pbuh) one way or another. I prefer the Prophet (pbuh) over more recent sources of guidance.

I meant that I do not know very much about Islam, so my lack of knowledge could be dangerous in the sense that I could make some big mistakes if I guessed at things I do not know much about. ;)

Ah, I see. Well, feel free to ask any of us on the site and we can give you our take on whatever aspect of Islam you'd like to know more about. :)

For following the tariqa of Muhammad (pbuh) ? Don't get me wrong, but when I was a Muslim [at least tried to be], I only followed the Holy Qur'an, for I think that suffices as the tariqa of Muhammad (pbuh)

Well, many of us also pay some attention to the authentic Hadiths.

Have to ask... Have you ever witnessed whirling dervishes..?

...I have a lot of respect for more contemplative forms of Islam. Such as Sufism.

Happy birthday, BTW. :)

Thanks. I wish you had been here last week. I had a Christian on another forum trying to discredit the Qur'an and he was using that to "try" to discredit Muhammad. Since I did not know enough, I could not refute him, so all I could do was a web search for arguments from Muslims who refuted him. Here is the video he posted.
