Thank you! Once again, I am a well-oiled machine. Why, I feel practically brand-new.

A well oiled oil well machine.
(Almost palindromic, eh.)

Yet, mayor Deblasio of NY failed miserably... A city built "up" with elevators and mass transit, and he allowed the coronavirus to spread there like wildfire because the "economy".
Once again,
City leaders were following the lead of the Trump administration. And not just in NYC, that city just happened to be epicenter because it's dense, huge, and loaded with visitors from around the country and globe.

So in other words, Bill Deblasio has no leadership skills, yet he is Mayor of Americas most densely populated city. Wow.

In other words, "believing Trump and following his lead means you're stupid"?
Is that really what you mean to say?

Because that's what it sounds like.
State and local leaders operated according to what came out of the White House. Now there are threads about blaming them for doing that.

“We should not be focusing, in my view, on anything looking back on any level of government right now,” Hizzoner said on CNN. “This is just about how we save lives going forward.” -- Mayor Bill Deblasio

De Blasio, Cuomo go on defensive over initial responses to coronavirus outbreak
Here's the difference. Many of us realized we were wrong thinking this was a usual "killer bug of the year" sort of thing. Trump, however, continues on in a way that is utterly dismissive, saturated with lies and falsehoods, and he effects the entire nation. Like his wanting everything back to normal and open by Easter to pack all those churches full of people.

Well let see.
Jan 31 Travel from China halted
Mar 11 Travel from Europe halted
Mar 13 U.S. National Emergency declared
Mar 16 Nationwide recommendation no groups over 10
Mar 18 Governor NY says no shelter-in-place for NYC...Mayor Cuomo agrees
Mar 29 Guidelines extended through April 30 for U.S.
Seems like everyone is trying to do their best, although maybe guidelines could have been issued earlier. But I really don't think people would have paid attention. It took a major shock to get the average American to realize that Covid 19 was a dire threat.
Note: I think I got most of the dates right.

Obviously you must worship Bill Deblasio.
But no one is defending Deblasio, nor pretending that he's perfect. That's the difference.
Many Trump supporters on the other hand crawl on their bellies and lap away at Donny's ****-caked boots while convincing themselves it's chocolate, and then spastically fling themselves to his defense, no matter how damningly accurate or valid the criticism, as if he's incapable of any wrong. How did that buffoon become a messiah figure to you?

It's sad when someone with no leadership skills becomes a mayor, but it's even sadder when someone with no leadership skills becomes a president.

No leadership skills? What do you mean? He's doing a great job at getting himself on TV and increasing his polling results.
