Is fear a blessing of G-d as is love?

We fear Corona-virus so that we save our lives.
There is no harm if we, while scientists endeavor to find a vaccine, turn to G-d and mend our ways.
The truthful Religion approves it and science is not against it. Right, please?

There is no harm that people turn to god. Everyone handles emotions differently. Some need religion, spirituality, or however named. Others do not.

To me fear is not a blessing but the reaction of the personal ego to perceived threats to it.

Absolutely not. Fear is a warning and a life-threatening feeling in where the "blessing" in this is that you become aware and alert in order to survive.

But "fear" can be a kind of personal blessing for those who have taken authority - or have been democratically impowered to guide a population and in special situations uses fear in order to inflate their own or national ego.

The big problem "in these times" is that those individuals who leads, are to a large extend missing their natural groundings and order all kinds of irrational precautions and restrictions for the population, with another word, goes and acts in panic.

Evolution in the nature (which is a blessing itself) has it with coming up with different mutated bacteria and vira every year and the point is to follow the natural evolution in order to get "best fitted".

It can seem to be very cynical just to say: "Let nature take its way", as it happens periodically for all life in nature, but this is a fact which no one can avoid and to which there is no vaccine when it comes to the very point.

As vira and bacteria mutates every year and come up with new forms, the medical industry and doctors will always be a step behind finding new vaccines in such matters. And it is on basis of this uncertain and annual changes, the WHO and other helse institutions and politicians just induces false expectations and a completely irrational fear onto the populations all over the world.

They really don´t know what to do, so they do anything and everything so it seems they are very effective and that they do the right thing, which just creates fear and highly irrational restrictions which closes social life and even countries down.

At least in some countries whereas other countries are "keeping up the appearances" and acts naturally and accordingly to the development of the disease. Just the different approaches in different countries is a clear evidence of the general global confusion.

It sure is - as long as we live :) And if you incorporate "God" in this, it´s a blessing of God. I just take it all as a natural circuit of life in general.

Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. On the other hand, other forms of fear can be based on faith in the wrong things. This type of fear is from man and not God.

For example, the Corona Virus, has very limited mortality compared to the flu. Corona has been made larger than life, in the same way the media amplifies a plane crash, causing many people to fear flying, even though driving a car has a higher mortality rate.

The vast majority of people will be spared death by the corona virus. So if you are in that majority, and nothing happens to you, you have wasted your faith in fear, simply because the herd has been spooked it is stampeding and fears the boogey man.

Fear in God is the beginning of wisdom implies using fear like a stepping stone for developing reason, that leads to wisdom and common sense. If fake news is involved, you should know by now; gain wisdom, that your fear is being exaggerated and exploited.

I very much agree in this. HYSTERIA and lack of NATURAL PROPORTIONS has got the better of doctors, medical industry and politicians on behalf of us all and our natural life.

fear as defined throughout this thread should be read as AWE...a state of wonder....which is the fear of the lord. as a child has for their dad whom they love and admire......
anything else is of a different spirit...my 2 centz

they are not contradictory, but complementary
proverbs is using the word fear-yirah
which is defined as strong reverence,
so strong it would be comparative to a strong fear as a correlative experience
to reference for the sake of comprehension [emotional intensity]
in 2 tim- it is a greek word -deilia ...or timidity.....derived from the root which expresses the quality of faithlessness, or dread, which is expectations of terrible consequence
