Don't give a monkeys. Can't stand the royals, BUT these two seem to have been stitched up by the tabloid press, they seem to love Kate and hate Meghan. I hope it's not racism but it makes you wonder.
There is proverb that says " thinking of the worst makes you malicious, but you usually guess"

The whole idea of a "royal family", supported by the taxpayers on a massive scale is rather bizarre to me.
Get your facts right. The Queen is supported by the income from the Duchy of Lancaster estate but 85% of the income goes to the government. The Prince of Wales and his sons are supported by the income from the Duchy of Cornwall estate and 30% of the income goes to the government. How much tax does the US president pay, I wonder? Of course they claim expenses when they carry out public functions — just like a president.

Yes, that is true. That goes with being a "constitutional monarchy."
Not quite true. The last monarch to block legislation or a government decision was George V, but governor generals who exercise her powers outside the UK have acted when necessary. In South Africa, one refused an election in 1939 and in Australia one sacked the Prime Minister in 1975. One point of a monarchy is to have a non-political head of state who can act in emergencies, like King Juan Carlos I of Spain who foiled an attempted coup in 1981.

Who owns these estates and pays for maintenance on them ?

So our illustrious royal family doesn't want Harry & Meghan to have the 'royal' badge,
But it's happy to back alleged pedophile Andrew keeping the royal reference

Since when has having sex with a 17 year old been defined as being a pedophile?

The trouble with the Sussexes is that the both take after the wrong parent — she's difficult like her father and he's a snowflake like his mother.

You're not really defending Andrew?
Harry & Meghan are my favourite royals, along with Anne

There's apparently racism against her and the British press is merciless as well. I don't blame them. But I'm not into soap operas, whether on TV or reality, so I'm only noticing headlines casually.
I recall some idiot on Facebook saying "why couldn't Harry marry an English beauty?" and someone was like "what English beauties?". Lol. No offence but it's true that English women were never really renown for their beauty.

Meghan is a very beautiful woman by any standard.

It's also absurd. Royals have a tradition of marrying foreign royals throughout Europe.

It's strange to me since some in the British press were making it seem like Harry was marrying a pitch black African tribeswoman (which makes me wonder how they'd react if he actually did?). I'm mixed in the same way Meghan is and I actually had no idea she was mixed at first because she's so light skinned with "white" features.

The Queen's husband is of Greek/Danish descent; the Royal family changed their name to Windsor - it was actually German - Saxe-Coburg (IIRC) - that didn't go down well during the wars with that country.
