Turns out even though I'm paying less in taxes here in California, I'm actually paying more. Because so many people who aren't paying my taxes, who don't know how much I make, and have not an inkling of a clue as to what my tax burden has been in California know better than I, the one who keeps track of such things. Like, apparently, even though I make more money here than I did in Indiana and had a tremendously light tax burden compared to what Indiana would have wanted, it's California that is taxing me back below the poverty line and that just did not happen in Indiana like it is here. Even though it's not happening here.

That's the most confusing post I've read in many a day.

It should be, as it's rather confusing how people are so sure of themselves that they tell me I'm paying more in taxes here than I was in Indiana, even though they aren't the ones paying my taxes and know nothing of my finances. Maybe if they've seen some check/pay stubs to compare between here and there, but that would not support their demand and insistence that I'm paying more in taxes here.
In reality, my first full year here I made more money than I ever did in Indiana, California isn't the state that taxes me back below the poverty line, and I still have to make several thousand more before I am taxed here what I was in Indiana. And by that point I'll be making so much money (relative to what I've known) that such a tax burden won't sink me back to the poverty level, and I doubt I miss it.

I am just now reminded of one of my math classes, at community college, one of the higher math courses I took there, the teacher had us use some instant messenger thingy that school uses, and I did what were were supposed to with it, and forgot about it, leaving myself logged on. Well, at some point in the night, I get a message from my teacher telling me to go to sleep.

In a pukey and clicheish way, I'm kind of glad I did drop out of college the first time and waited awhile, as that waiting allowed me to see first hand how technology is reshaping education, and learn how unfortunate kids are that suffering through using tablets is the only school they will ever know.

I was going to say something. But now I have forgotten. So I will just say this:
In the next season of The Last Kingdom Uhtred really needs to lose the eyeliner. He's a "Daxon," (He's Saxon but was raised as a Dane) but he looks more like a fill in for a cheap glam rock cover band.

Yeah though I walk through the valley of a stock market downturn, I will fear no total crash...

I just finished my lunch of Chinese food.....well...most folks would not call it Chinese food, but Mrs Wu's definition of Chinese food in a restaurant is "made by Chinese people" Does not matter if the restaurant is Japanese, Korean, or an American Dinner.....if the owners and the cooks are Chinese, she insists it is Chinese food.

So, if that is the case, Mrs Wu cooked this past weekend and that is what I had for lunch....Chinese Egg Plant Parmesan and Chinese Gnocchi

By that definition, I often have meals prepared by true mutts.
