Hi Os, welcome and sorry to see your post got lost.
Great question. The scriptures are very clear that God's people are defined as all those who believe and follow God's Word *JOHN 10:26-28. The scripture clearly says that by our fruits is how we know God or not *MATTHEW 7:13-27. If you want to talk specifics? Your question is actually directly answered and shown in the scriptures here... *1 JOHN 2:3-4; REVELATION 12:17; REVELATION 14:12 and REVELATION 22:14. Question for you personally is what do you think these scriptures mean (no need to answer this question here if you do not wish to)?
My understanding according to the scriptures is that, God is love and God's love is demonstrated through obedience to God's 10 commandments which are also our duty of love to God (first four) and our duty of love to our fellow man (second six) *1 JOHN 4:16; MATTHEW 22:36-40; ROMANS 13:8-10; 1 JOHN 5:3. We cannot love however unless we are born again as we believe and follow God's Word *JOHN 3:3-7; 1 JOHN 3:4-9. Sin (breaking God's law) is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 JOHN 3:6-10. God so loved us that he gave us his only son to die the death that we deserve to die so that if we believe in him (his Word) we will never perish but have everlasting life. God's salvation is from sin as we continue in God's Word *JOHN 8:31-36 and the what gives us the victory to overcome the world is our faith in God's Word *1 JOHN 5:4. God is not willing that anyone should perish but that everyone should be saved. This however according to the scriptures will not happen as many are called but few are chosen because men love darkness rather then the truth (light) because they love evil (sin) *MATTHEW 22:14; JOHN 3:16-21. Sadly at the second coming many will find out too late that they will not enter into God's kingdom because they rejected the gift of God's dear son and did not believe and follow God's Word *ROMANS 6:23; ACTS 17:30-31; HEBREWS 10:26-39
Hope this is helpful Os and nice to meet you
