What is the general reaction to the latest upset with Harry and Meghan?
I saw a news clip that caught the Queen driving and she did not look happy.
I saw the movie 'The Queen' and the resemblance was remarkable.
The whole idea of a "royal family", supported by the taxpayers on a massive scale is rather bizarre to me.

Nevertheless, in return, all the prince's and their honey's are expected to be loyal and carry out their "duties".

This guy got himself mixed up with an American with a chip on her shoulder that dazzled his inbred mind.

It has been done before with the ex king lapdog of Wallis Simpson.

I understand Burger King offered the prince a job, since they want to be financially independent.

They will never be financially independent of the royal family, that is simply too good a gig.

I think the queen understands her responsibilities as her God given duty. I think she was only 18 when she became queen. While people may be fascinated by the royal family they also question the existence, that's it is outdated and ought to be no more. Yet their also in love with the idea of the monarchy.

To be fair, The Royal Family is basically a tourist attraction and a marketing wing of the UK plc. If you visit London you go to Buck Palace, Windsor and buy mugs with Liz and Phil on

Actually, there's a lot more to the role of the monarch than that. I think it's really interesting to remember that her Prime Ministers must meet with her every week (wherever in Great Britain she is at the moment), that she receives her "red boxes" with state documents, many of which are for her to sign, others just to keep her up-to-date, and that she has the right to "warn and advise" her Prime Ministers. And think about how important this is when you remember that she has, quite literally, personal met every world leader, and most of the seconds-in-command and so many other people for over 60 years. She has studied every piece of legislation, she can remember (for her PMs) when "this was tried before, you know, and here's what happened."

Reminds me of the movie with Judy Dench 'the Queen and Abdul', I think it was Victoria, reading the 'boxes' with the PM. Delightful movie

If the Monarch ever decided not to sign one piece of legislation that would be the end of the Royals.

People, the Queen in this case, shouldn't hang her happiness on what her kids choose to do.

As long as Harry and Meghan are happy, it all good by me.

Don't give a monkeys. Can't stand the royals, BUT these two seem to have been stitched up by the tabloid press, they seem to love Kate and hate Meghan. I hope it's not racism but it makes you wonder.

Why do you hope it isn't racism?

All I can say is I like the queen much better than the Kardashians.

I've always had a soft spot for independent minded people. It's nice to see the genuine person for a change rather than the rehearsed artificial public performances of royalty.

This scene sums up my view of royalty:

One big joke, yet only Jack Lemmon could have made it funny.
