Is Trump Trying to Get Us into War to Get Reelected?

War is a pecking order on a world scale.

Trump is making sure the United States stays there at the apex.
Sure, survival of the fittest, might makes right, every man for himself, ... these are the ideals of the republican party and those who support them. Honesty, integrity, compassion, fairness, these are platitudes for the suckers of the world. That's why no matter what Trump does; eliminating health care for millions, eliminating social security, eliminating social safety net programs, even attacking other nations and causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people doesn't matter to republicans. Because other human beings don't matter to republicans. Other human beings are the 'competition'. The 'enemy' that must be subjugated for 'us' to get ahead. Republicans are socio-economic Darwinists who believe that aggression and violence and the abuse and subjugation of others are virtuous motives, because the world is an eat-or-be-eaten environment, and always will be.

And sadly, it always will be BECAUSE of them.

Iran attacked Americans first. That's why we took the general out post haste.
When was this first attack (one before which we didn't attack them)?

Another question....
How many Iranians & how many Ameristanians have died in each other's attacks?

I don't think so.
Trump is making it easier for Russia to regain their superpower status.
Which is why Putin wanted Trump to be president.

You could probably argue with the coup attempt in the fifties.

The first actual deaths started in Beirut with the bombings at the marine base.

I'm not including the botched rescue attempt to rescue the hostages, that came primarily due to our ill prepared mission.

More recently the American contractor's death was the flashpoint leading to the generals demise.

How about Iranian deaths?

I think you are knocking down a phantom strawman. My point has nothing to do with Trump's obligations or deflecting from the issue, but how Iran may perceive actions from the U.S.

Yet you never consider how Iranian actions are perceived by the US. Perhaps consider this factor.

Consider how we would react if there were a country we have been hostile with for decades, they had military bases set up in and around the U.S., made continuous strikes that killed civilians as well as military targets, their old leader had been willing to negotiate but their new one ripped up that negotiation, and they suddenly take out a top U.S. general.

Those nations made agreements with the US for those leases. Too bad for Iran that sovereign nations do not need to consult with Iran regarding their agreements.

They are human. They are going to react unfavorably towards us.

All while ignoring their own acts and pretend to outraged that Iranian acts likewise have consequences.

So it IS important to consider history when assessing how a country may respond to military action!

11 American soldiers were injured in Iraq with concussive injuries after Trump killed Soleimani.

Sure. However I have noted a tendency to only look at US actions while ignoring actions Iran took of it's own accord. No one is forcing their hand here.

We do have the world's most powerful army and are one of the most influential nations in the world.

A dozen concussions.....not even a drop in the bucket compared to
nearly a million Iranians dead by our hand (Iraq acting as proxy).
It seems USA's attacks on Iran have been far far far more violent
than the reverse. I think this figures into our relationship with them,
but that our leaders & voters are blind to it. This doesn't bode well
for problem solving.

A concussion should be handled carefully though. One should
avoid suffering any more, since effects are cumulative.

The bombing of the Marine barracks was in revenge for the Sabra Shatilla Massacre.
