2019 was a great year...

...for movies. Best in the decade, I'd wager. Lots of well crafted movies this past year, an obscene amount in fact. Here's a list of some of my favorite movies that I watched last year.

The Lighthouse
1917
Joker
Parasite
The Irishman
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Knives Out
Doctor Sleep
El Camino
The Fanatic (this one is terrible, but is so bad it's good.)
Ready or Not
The Peanut Butter Falcon
Midsommar
John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum (That's quite a mouthful, innit?)
Detective Pikachu
Shazam!

Those are just the ones I can think off the top of my head. The first three are or so are in order, the rest were just spewed haphazardly onto the page. Cheers.

Now I feel outdated :D haven't seen one of the movies on the list. If i do watch movies they are mostly from 80s or 90s or a few in 2000

The Lighthouse was perhaps the worst movie I've ever seen.
The Irishman was a snoozefest.
Some of the others are on my to-watch list.

I myself have not seen any of those movies that decade or in 2019. My favorite decade for movies was definitely the 90s but the 80s had some great movies to.

Loved The Fugitive "with Harrison Ford" and I also loved "Princess Mononoke" when it came to movie animation.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Wow, you must really, really, really like movies. Good for you!

I'd like to get out and see more newer movies (as a film buff), but I'm over 50 now, so can't do it as much. I can watch new movies when my college aged kids come over and they pick what they want to see.

I agree with:
The Lighthouse
1917
Joker
Parasite
The Irishman (saw but didn't like) - What did you you like about it?
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (haven't seen but would like to)
Knives Out (ditto)
El Camino (It was very good, but not on the level of BB; rated 7.5)
John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum (haven't seen but would like to)
Detective Pikachu (lol; you're a better man than me)
Shazam! (did see, something different but only ok, gave it a 7)
