What people think those numbers are.
In polls like this you often get opinions that aren't based on any facts but they give a look into the mindset of the people. From the answers to this poll I conclude that the polled value facts and aren't afraid to admit their ignorance (something rare in the general population) - though they lack reading comprehension.
So the subject's guess at the world suicide rate as a whole is a litmus test of some or other aspect of the subject's psychology?

What, I wonder, is the question that this information will answer? That the subject is depressed? Deluded? Not good at figures? Impulsive at making things up? Lazy? Indifferent?

That the aggregated result will tell us that the subject's nation as a populace is one or more of those things? Doesn't know from beans?

Anyway, thanks for your input.

Yep.

I don't know what the author's question was, or if he had a specific question. I provided my analysis of the data.

The subjects "nation" is RF members who answer the poll. Those are the only ones we can draw conclusions about.
I'm personally impressed about the number of participants who admit ignorance and question the question - though it is skewed by the ability to read former comments before commenting themselves.

I'm not aware of any accurate figure on global rates.

Do you have a reliable source? That keeps accurate track of the suicide rate in China, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Cambodia, Mongolia, Togo, Bangla Desh, all the rest?

If you have, I'd be interested to see what it says.

If you don't, what are we actually talking about?

See posts 15 and 18.
