Ukrainian Passenger Plane Shot Down In Iran Or Crashed?

To tell you the truth when I first heard about this yesterday I said this sounds like someone launched a SAM thinking it was an inbound military aircraft. It has happened before. Now with the story released by different news sources it appears that I might have been right. The aircraft was at 8000 feet when the incident happened. Here is the story from different sources

Yeah. It seemed like too much of a coincidence.
Also, I’d heard reports yesterday that witnesses saw it coming down on fire.
So sorry to hear this.

Though we may not agree politically I do agree with you on this. And with the Iranians holding the Black Box we are not likely to get confirmation either way. But not releasing it only makes them look guilty.

The Canadians say that the plane was shot down. Aka "Collateral damage" - that ugly phrase for civilian deaths appears accurate in this case from what I've heard so far.

Iran has stooped so low as to blame its mistake elsewhere; Iran is such a liar who can't be trusted to tell the truth about what they've done.

What? Me worry?
I reckon any Canadian or European, who were on the jetliner shot down by Iran, should've realized Iran was too dangerous for them to be.

How about the idiots that shot the plane down? Haven't heard a word of condemnation of Iran yet.

I seriously doubt Iran will ever pay any compensation to the families of those airline passengers who were blasted out of the sky by Iran, nor would I expect Iran to apologize for shooting down this jetliner.

Seems Iran has itchy trigger fingers nowadays.

Pelosi will apologize for them.

Seems like a CIA black ops. They always throw a monkey wrench into the narrative. Hit the Iranians sideways. It's how they think. Iranians shooting down a jet serves no purpose for their cause. It was probably a stinger missile. Iranian missiles have a difficult enough time hitting a target on the ground.

The video in this BBC article appears to show the missile hitting the plane - but who knows?

Western powers suggest Iran missile downed jet

According to the Arabs:

"Canadian, US and UK officials have said intelligence indicated that an Iranian missile brought down the airliner, a conclusion dismissed by Iran.

"All these reports are a psychological warfare against Iran," Iranian state TV quoted government spokesman Ali Rabiei in a statement."

Wow, now here's a report we will never see on US television:

"Iran invites Boeing to probe plane crash
Iran has invited both Ukraine and the Boeing company to take part in the plane crash investigation, state media reported.

The spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, said it will also welcome experts from other countries' whose citizens died in the crash.

Iran had initially said it would not allow Boeing to take part in the probe, going against prevailing international norms on crash investigations.

It later invited the US accident-investigating agency to take part in the investigation."
