Can You Locate Iran on a Map?

A recent Morning Consult/Politico poll of American registered voters found that only 23% of respondents could locate Iran on a map.

Can You Locate Iran? Few Voters Can.

If the map was zoomed in to the Middle East region, scores improved...to 28%.

It's a little amazing to me that people can have such strong opinions of what our military strategy should be in regard to a country when they don't even know where it is. (Notably, political ideology was not a decisive factor in who got the question right; we all did about as terribly).

How about you? Could you locate Iran on a map?
now i understand why US hit that general in Iraq, they knew where the place was...

Yes, I can locate it on a map. More importantly our military can locate it with their targeting systems.

When I was at school I could locate about 160 countries and name their capitals.
But I haven't kept up. The former Yugoslavia and the states of the former Soviet Union are a mystery to me and I may have missed some African countries change their names since then.
Iran was already Iran then (though some tabloids kept on referring to it as Persia) and it hasn't split or united since. So, yes, I can locate Iran on a map. I had to look up Grenada when the US invaded there though.

My favorite are the people who put it in the middle of the ocean. Or up in Greenland. Like, you've seen pictures of Iran, right?

All I know is during the second Iraq war the first thing the US military did was destroy a pipeline from Iraq to Turkey where the oil was going to be sold in Euros. And then a pipeline from Iran to China was destroyed. Net the result was Europe and China had to buy oil from the Saudis and the oil shot up to $140/barrel and GWB proclaimed, "Mission Accomplished!"

U.S. = awesome
Rome was awesome at it's prime. But it was founded on slavery, it was at constant war, the Romans poisoned themselves with lead, they couldn't keep up intellectually with the Greeks so they abandoned proper education; then they made some questionable decisions in leadership and they let Christianity become a power in politics. Then they went under.

Iran is the nation that is most dangerously close to the vast majority of the American Middle Eastern military bases.

Yes and I know the history of Iran from the US overthrow of the democratically elected government in the 1950's (we thought they might go communist) to today.
