There is no more Boy Scouts.

I think this is the whole point. Our two girls were in GS for a time and were always jealous of our son's experiences, he is an eagle scout.

Then people should clamor to reform the Girl Scouts then to give girls what they really want or perhaps need. I even saw an article's complaining that Boy Scouts doesn't even give girls what they want or need.

Girls in Boy Scouts is bad for everyone

But there are Girl Scouts, and in fact, they didn’t quite care for this change.

Allowing girls to join the Boy Scouts does so much more than even the playing ground – if that’s all it was, it wouldn’t be a bad thing. Inclusivity based on gender, or allowing girls into what was previously an all-boy group, serves to discredit the notion that boys need to spend time with other boys, to engage in masculine activities, and to learn from older, healthy men how to imitate them. Boys should be allowed to be involved in groups with only other boys, just like Bible studies favor Christians, feminists promote other women, and more.

As a mother of four, I’m not saying boys and girls shouldn’t engage with one another or that there shouldn’t be an effort to allow for neutrality in areas where it matters (like toys!) but to include girls in Boy Scouts effectively communicates that a boy’s gender doesn’t matter while a girl’s gender does.

If girls want a penis they can't get it from any youth organization.

The Girls Scouts still doesn't admit male members (and it absolutely should not ever) but nobody seems to be squawking about that.

Well, this is a good point. If the Boy Scouts allow girls, then it's only right that the Girl Scouts allow boys. It's only fair.

So, why don't the Girl Scouts allow boys?

I know a lot of girls who jumped over to the 4H Club instead of scouts.

Not sure what they were all about, but they always had a presence at county fairs so I'm guessing they had to do with agriculture or raising farm animals.

I went to *one* Boy Scout meeting. I was invited by a friend from school and was curious what was going on.

Truthfully, I was shocked. With the parading around and symbolism, it looked exactly like any paramilitary organization with strongly nationalistic overtones. This was apparent to me in elementary school. To me, at the time, it looked very similar to what I would expect at a Nazi rally. It turned my stomach.

It would be a good thing if the Boy Scouts simply disbanded. The whole undercurrent of the organization is something we don't need in a modern society, imho.

I really don't even know what these things are/do. But if that's the complaint, the remedy seems obvious...

I find this attitude ridiculous and totally unrealistic in today's world. I suppose you also oppose women's role in the milirary, now inclusive.

Since when does BOY mean child of either sex?
Have they lost their Websters?

Since the first Game Boy was used by a girl? :p

More seriously, would you be happy if they renamed it the ''Scouts'' instead of the ''Boy Scouts''? Also in your mind, what's the gender of a tomboy?

This is one big reason I'm not a parent and never will be.

I can see some reason why it might be a good decision. I don't think you display a good character to be a parent.

While the OP is a bit extreme in his wording and approach, I do agree that they should have kept the scouts separate based off sex/gender.

That's another horse of another color. Why should there be an exclusive female group as the Girl Scouts? How is this "not ridiculous and unrealistic" in today's world? Why the misandry?

There are still only two sexes today as there were thousands of years ago. Today's world doesn't eliminate either sex or both sexes. The day one or the other sex or both sexes become extinct, Homo sapiens will also become extinct.

The male sex has become extinct it might seem.

Boy Scouts of America | Prepared. For Life.™

For the first time in its 100+ year history, the iconic program of the Boy Scouts of America is open to both young men and young women. Scouts BSA is a year-round program for boys and girls in fifth grade through high school that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves.

I will not bring new children into a gender-confused world full of two-legged scum that calls itself "the human race". As far as I'm concerned the world can just die out altogether.

Does this mean the Girl Scouts will be accepting boys as well?

According to its website, it still is female-only today.

I don't know what mental retard at the Boy Scouts decided to admit shes.

Maybe there should be THREE Scouts:

a boy-only one, Boy Scouts
a girl-only one, Girl Scouts
a coed one, Coed Scouts

Perhaps the big reason that you were never a parent was that no one wanted you.

Perhaps the big reason that you will never be a parent is that you are too old.

In any case, I join those who have said they are glad that you never became a parent.
