Other planets Christians and other religions

Since the Catholic Church and their "priests" made frontpage news in recent years I know for sure that their concepts are bogus (but Limbo seems the proper place for these priests)

I know a lot of priests that are OK but curiously enough press doesn't seem interested in them. Hey, I didn't know medieval theologians made it to front page news! :)

Limbo was a hypothesis, never an official doctrine. Later it was even abandoned. Purgatory on the other hand is still a part of the doctrine but is thought as a process of purification not a place...

In some religions there is the concept of reincarnation. One repeats the cycle until one learns what is necessary to move forward.

John 10:16 is referring to those besides the Jews who were the first Christians, the Gentiles who would hear Jesus’ words and become His followers. I don’t believe there is anything in the scriptures to validate the idea it refers to inhabitants on other planets.

As much as it causes me great turmoil of conscious and gives me great pain, I have to agree, or at least concur (agree for different reasons) with @InChrist here (my Gods, what have I become?). :D

My belief is that Jesus taught to a very narrow audience and with a very narrow focus. I don’t believe he was considering or teaching the world at large. He was attempting to bring the “lost sheep” of Israel back to God. I really don’t think he was referring to Klingons, Romulans or Wookkiees.

My opinion on this:
I am not very surprised this happens. The Christian Church always said "Christian way is the highway ... for all". Thereby belittling other faiths.
Naturally they get karmic reactions. And that is good, because what the Church is doing (belittling others faiths) is like black magic.
(pointing gun/finger at others, people forget 3 fingers are pointing back at themselves)

When the Church stops this behavior a lot of aggression will be dissolved in the world IMO.
Of course Christian Church is not the only Relgion claiming to know what is best for others.
So it will take probably a longtime, before this issue is solved.

Karma is a bitsj, it keeps biting you in the behind, until you stop your adharmic behavior.

Though I understand why this all happens, I do agree with you, that it would be nicer to live in a world where we only look at the good priests. But then first the priests need to up their game and give the proper example. That's how it seems to work in the world. No magic happens here. You have to do the work yourself.

I had to google Limbo, and saw that it was abandoned, and purgatory is still part of the doctrine.
And "process of purification" makes more sense to me than a real "place"

But I can also understand that way back in year ZERO or later, they "saw" it as a place, or maybe it was meant figuratively, but taken literally by people who were not educated as well. And along the years even the priests took it literally (they did at the Church I attended when young).

Anyway, I do hope that this Spiritually "I know what is best for you/all (+telling others)" stops soon, because telling others what faith is good for them, is a well known cause for irritation, aggression, fights and even wars. It's more productive to show off by living a perfect example IMO

That makes sense, thinking of the wise quote "IF you change yourself, you will change the world".

For the Christian church and other religions who claim they are the only ones who have truth ,So if in 10 or 20 years from now we find life on other planets, obviously they have no knowledge of who Jesus is or Alah or other religious saviors. So how do you explain? If God meant your religion to be the one and only earth would be the only live planet.
Unless your religion believes your the one and only only on earth,so how do you explain?

We might find life in 20 years. Might.
It could be found in return samples from Mars.
Just tiny rocks, drilled cores and scoops of
soil. I doubt these organisms know anything
about Jesus.

I believe that is easy. It is called progressive revelation. 20,000 years ago probably everyone was an animist or idol worshiper so another planet could be at that point in their history.

The bible says he was human, sorry a human can't be in 2 places at once.If you say God can do anything or oh its a mystery only God knows, a human can not be on two planets at once, and in fact he cant be human even and be frpm another planet, that would make him another species of being which would make the bible a lie sense it says hes human.

I believe there is no limit to what God can do. You have heard of cloning haven't you?

Are you telling me that the crab-donkey-squid people of Emeniar 7 were made in the image of God? They only have one gender and the offspring parasitize the adults.

Speaking of which, I believe it is quite possible that God created humans on other planets before creating them on ours so it would be in the same image. However the lizard people are quite different even though they are humanoid.

What was so painful about that?
