I figure that 10% of our 2 billion Christians income, on earth, is about 1 to 2 trillion dollars a year. Our King Jesus Christ, Commands that this great wealth of His be used to care for the poor on earth, if His subjects love Him. The problem our King Jesus is having, is that His subjects are trying to work the secular socialists ‘use other people’s money’ agenda. We live in a Church where it seems you absolutely do not talk about how Jesus’ ten percent of our wealth should be used for global socialism. Jesus pointed His finger at His followers, not Caesar, as to just whose job it is to care for the poor. Jesus’ Church leaders should do likewise.

Matthew 25:31
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.' Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?' And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.' Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?' He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Luke 16:19 The Rich Man and Lazarus
"There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously each day. And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps that fell from the rich man's table. Dogs even used to come and lick his sores. When the poor man died, he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried, and from the netherworld, where he was in torment, he raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he cried out, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.' Abraham replied, 'My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented. Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established to prevent anyone from crossing who might wish to go from our side to yours or from your side to ours.' He said, 'Then I beg you, father, send him to my father's house, for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them, lest they too come to this place of torment.' But Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.' He said, 'Oh no, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.' Then Abraham said, 'If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.'"

We do fail often in living out of our faith. We have allowed ourselves to be absorbed by secular culture, and in that, it can make us hypocrites in the eyes of the world, and rightly so.

Some good points here my friend.

Jesus well knew about the Torah mandate that we all need to help those in need, and that included the government of eretz Israel, therefore in is incumbent on us and our governments to help all whom are in need. At no point did Jesus abandon the Torah mandate for this, and no government in the world relies on charity alone, and there's an obvious reason for that.

Hello Metis,

Tens of millions of our brother Lazarus South Americans, literally suffering and dying at the, 1.3 billion members, Commanded by Jesus to care for the poor, Catholic Church’s door step. No Catholic leader condemnation of Catholics lack of charity in not tithing properly (possibly a trillion dollars per year) to keep Jesus from dying, by caring for the least of Jesus’ brothers, Lazarus, the South Americans. No Catholic leaders preaching Jesus’ Gospel warning that Jesus is going to burn in hell all those Catholics who do not rescue their suffering and dying brother Lazarus, the South Americans.

Instead, Catholic leaders led massive protests to get poor, dying and suffering Lazarus, the South Americans, illegally into America. Once in America, then Catholic leaders went on a huge secular social justice condemnation of America, if America does not care for poor Lazarus the South Americans, illegally in America. Kind of like Jesus’ Good Samaritan Parable where God’s Jewish Priests passed the robbery victim by, to let the non-Jew, secular, Samaritan spend his money to care for those in distress.

So Metis, does this now make the American Taxpayers the ones who are the sheep in Jesus' Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, who Jesus is going to take into heaven, while Jesus burns in hell the goats, all the Christians who did not tithe properly (possibly a trillion plus dollars per year) to feed and care for the poor, when they were back in their own country, in South America?

What do you think?

I believe you've misportrayed with the above what's really been happening and why. The "enemy" in reality is not "socialism" but that there are too many who are ignoring Jesus' teachings to help those in need, both individually, through the Church, and through governments. Tithing alone simply will not do it, even as the Israeli's realized over time. On top of that, why should those whom are non-affiliated with any religious organized get a "free ride".

I really would rather move on and not get too political on this Catholic DIR. Have a Happy New Year.

Jesus’ Great Wealth, Catholic Open Borders, and a Return to Papal States, equals

Jesus’ Utopian Sanctuary on Earth!

Hello Metis,

Yes! Let the Catholic Church abolish politics, Hallelujah!

After the conversion of Constantine, the secular world started donating massive amounts of wealth and land to Christ’s Church. The people living in Papal States were far better off than those living in secular nations. Papal States existed from the fourth century till the Kingdom of Italy conquered it and seized all Jesus’ land, in 1870. Wow! Papal States existed for a millennium and a half! At its peak, Papal States owned two thirds of Italy. Vatican City State did not regain it’s sovereign nation status until 1929. Wow! This is all not that long ago!

With Pope Francis opening Church borders to all and anyone who wants to live there, all the Church needs now is sovereign land again. The Church simply has to explain to secular rulers of third world countries, the beauty of donating sovereign land to Jesus. On Papal sovereign nation land, Jesus, with His great wealth on earth, will provide all the welfare, medical care, education, protection, of a first world nation. All secular world leaders will have to do is hand over their poor, sick and persecuted, to the newly established Papal sovereign nation, now existing on the land secular rulers donated to Jesus. What secular third world ruler would not greatly desire the tremendous opportunity to dump the financial burden of all their poor onto Jesus!

Talk about Jesus standing with His arms wide open to receive, and care for, all the world’s masses of starving, sick and oppressed masses! With the Pope running Papal lands, secular politics goes out the window. Hallelujah!

Our King Jesus Christ Enforcing His Tithe on Our Income Using Catholic Anathema

So why is it that 327 million American Taxpayers, the secular Good Samaritans of the world, are so infinitely more loving and caring to the ‘least of Jesus’ brothers', domestic and foreign, than our 2 billion followers of Jesus Christ?

America enforces Jesus' love of neighbor, through taxation. Our King Jesus Christ, through His Catholic clergy subjects, who bear His Authority on earth, have to put into enforcement Jesus Command to Love Him through the least of His brothers. A world wide, binding on all, Catholic Church auto-Anathema, binding to sin, and thus eternal damnation, anyone who does not tithe to care for the least of Jesus’ brothers, is what is needed. If someone fails to tithe, they can go to Jesus, through His representatives in the Catholic Church confessional, to discuss it with Jesus.

Matthew 25:31
'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Anathema

..."To understand the word anathema", says Vigouroux, "we should first go back to the real meaning of herem of which it is the equivalent. Herem comes from the word haram, to cut off, to separate, to curse, and indicates that which is cursed and condemned to be cut off or exterminated, whether a person or a thing, and in consequence, that which man is forbidden to make use of."...
...but anathematized, and that he may be stricken by the sword of Heaven"....

..."Know that Engeltrude is not only under the ban of excommunication, which separates her from the society of the brethren, but under the anathema, which separates from the body of Christ, which is the Church."...

..."If, after having been deposed from office, he is incorrigible, he should first be excommunicated; but if he perseveres in his contumacy he should be stricken with the sword of anathema; but if plunging to the depths of the abyss, he reaches the point where he despises these penalties, he should be given over to the secular arm."...

...In passing this sentence, the pontiff is vested in amice, stole, and a violet cope, wearing his miter, and assisted by twelve priests clad in their surplices and holding lighted candles. He takes his seat in front of the altar or in some other suitable place, amid pronounces the formula of anathema which ends with these words: Wherefore in the name of God the All-powerful, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, of the Blessed Peter, Prince of the Apostles, and of all the saints, in virtue of the power which has been given us of binding and loosing in Heaven and on earth, we deprive N-- himself and all his accomplices and all his abettors of the Communion of the Body and Blood of our Lord, we separate him from the society of all Christians, we exclude him from the bosom of our Holy Mother the Church in Heaven and on earth, we declare him excommunicated and anathematized and we judge him condemned to eternal fire with Satan and his angels and all the reprobate , so long as he will not burst the fetters of the demon, do penance and satisfy the Church; we deliver him to Satan to mortify his body, that his soul may be saved on the day of judgment."

He who dares to despise our decision, let him be stricken with anathema maranatha, i.e. may he be damned at the coming of the Lord, may he have his place with Judas Iscariot, he and his companions.

When the poor suffer and die, Church leaders seem to point their fingers at America, and not 2 billion Christians with their hearts of non-tithing stone, as the cause. Do you agree that Church leaders should use their position as Church leaders, to lead Christians into loving Jesus, through the least of Jesus' brothers, by tithing? Let the American Christians, and their non-Christian 'Good Samaritan' fellow countrymen, discuss, debate and decide how we want our tax dollars spent.

Some Catholics seem to indicate, that, because of Jesus’ mercy, Catholics are free to un-repentantly, financially abandon the poor to great suffering and starvation. However, to the American taxpayer, these same Catholics grant no mercy. Do we all agree that it is gravely wrong for these Catholics to teach this?

Greetings metis,

To obey God is to love God. Jesus Commands that His followers love Him through caring for the least of our brothers. Today we see tithing as the way for Christians to properly care for the least of Jesus’ brothers needs. 2 billion Christians tithing would be one to two trillion dollars a year, to be used for caring for the poor out of love for Jesus. Where are we at? We, 2 billion Christians are doing almost nothing at all for the poor, compared to a trillion dollars a year. So a great majority of Christians are choosing the let Jesus suffer and die, rather than love Jesus through the least of His brothers, by tithing to meet their needs.

So to feel better about letting Jesus suffer and die, rather than loving Jesus through the least of His brothers, many Catholics have started to say, it's all about mercy. Instead of loving Jesus, through the poor, they feel they can trust in Jesus mercy, even when they are totally unrepentant for letting Jesus die, by financially abandoning the least of Jesus’ brothers.

Without 2 billion people loving Jesus by tithing to care for the needs of Jesus’ brothers, now the poor are suffering and dying. Many Catholics now point their finger at the American Taxpayer as the bad guy for not caring for the poor, rather than pointing their finger at themselves.

We American taxpayers do not want to be judged and condemned as evil for the sins of 2 billion Christians. If two billion Christians do not want to love Jesus, through the least of His brothers, through tithing, then go talk about the weather or something, while Jesus is suffering and dying through the least of his brothers. Catholics must not become hypocrites by blaming the American taxpayers for the sins of 2 billion Christians failure to love Jesus by tithing to care for the poor.

2 billion Christians tithing would be one to two trillion dollars a year, to be used for caring for the poor out of love for Jesus.
First of all, tithing is not mandated for Gentiles as it falls under Jewish Law, and the vast majority of Christians are Gentiles.

Secondly, charity alone has proven to be totally inept at taking care of the poor.

Thirdly, tithing under Jewish Law was a form of taxation that went to the Temple priests and the government in eretz Israel, and there were other forms of taxation added to it.

So a great majority of Christians are choosing the let Jesus suffer and die, rather than love Jesus through the least of His brothers, by tithing to meet their needs.
That's a false dichotomy as it posits and either/or situation.

The government is not intrinsically the enemy as you seem to be repeatedly portraying it as, and Catholic social teachings regard the government, including its power of taxation, as being essential to a compassionate and just society.

Historically, the Church refused to endorse laissez faire capitalism (no safety net), especially since charities tend to dry up during economic crises. What comes to mind as an example of this is Victor Hugo's book "Les Miserables", which is historical fiction based on real events.

Hello metis,

You keep saying that I portray the government as the enemy, I have not. The ‘Good Samaritan’, American government and taxpayers, 327 million people, love Jesus as the Good Samaritan did, through the least of Jesus brothers, financially far greater than 2 billion Christians. It is Jesus’ followers who do not tithe properly to care for Jesus, through the least of His brothers, who are Jesus’ enemies.

John 15:22
"If I had not come to them and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; now, however, their sin cannot be excused. To hate me is to hate my Father. Had I not performed such works among them as no one has ever done before, they would not be guilty of sin; but as it is, they have seen, and they go on hating me and my Father."

Matthew 25:31
'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

John 14:15
If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Hello metis,

So how do you think Jesus’ great enemy, Satan, is stopping Christ’s faithful from tithing to care for the poor? Does Satan break Jesus’ faithful’s fingers so that they are unable to write a check? Has Satan gotten into the world banking system to stop payment on any of Christ’s 2 billion follower’s charity checks from going out to care for the least of Christ’s brothers?

I figure that our King Jesus Christ’s portion of 2 billion Christians on earth is about 1 to 2 trillion dollars. A couple trillion dollars a year can go a long way towards eliminating world poverty. How do we get Jesus’ trillions of dollars past Jesus great enemy Satan, and out to the world caring for the least of Jesus brothers?

Matthew 13:18 Parable of the Sower
"Hear then the parable of the sower. The seed sown on the path is the one who hears the word of the kingdom without understanding it, and the evil one comes and steals away what was sown in his heart. The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and receives it at once with joy. But he has no root and lasts only for a time. When some tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, he immediately falls away. The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit. But the seed sown on rich soil is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold."

Matthew 13:24 The Parable of the Weeds Among the Wheat.
He proposed another parable to them. "The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. The slaves of the householder came to him and said, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?' He answered, 'An enemy has done this.' His slaves said to him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?' He replied, 'No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn.'"

Matthew 13:36
Then, dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field." He said in reply, "He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. Just as weeds are collected and burned (up) with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear."

Matthew 25:31
'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.' I never stated anywhere that the American government is the enemy. Do we agree that Jesus' enemy is the uncharitable heart of 2 billion Christians?

I have no clue as to how accurate that figure may or may not be, nor am I willing to judge that which I do not know. OTOH, I have control over what I can do.

BTW, sorry if I misinterpreted your stand on the issue of governmental policies towards the poor.

Who Murdered Lazarus?

People are suffering in South America. So a Catholic Priest illegally led some South Americans into America. A Catholic Bishop organized a protest rally for secular social justice for illegal immigrants. Why didn’t these Catholics just leave poor Lazarus, the South Americans, down in South America, where 2 billion Christians could tithe to keep them from suffering and dying, out of Christian Justice love for Jesus?

There are many ways to kill people with guns and knives, but also people can kill others through lack of charity. We have Catholic Churches in South America. The Catholic Church has 13.8 billion members, commanded by Jesus to care for the least of His brothers. Jesus says He will burn Christians in hell if they fail to care for the poor. A tithe from 2 billion Christians would be a trillion plus dollars a year, which our Lord, God, Savior and King, Jesus Christ, Wills to be used to help the poor around the world. We could save millions of lives of the poor, and rescue a great number of uncharitable Christians from Jesus having to burn them in hell, simply by preaching Jesus’ Gospel. What a concept!

Rather than Catholics trying to blame America for Catholic's sin of murdering the poor, let we, the Catholic Church, confess our sin of murdering Lazarus, and work to bring all Catholics and people to love Jesus through the least of His brothers, through Jesus' Christian Justice tithing.
