It depends. Do you like modern conveniences, or would you rather live long before the appearance of even transport by rail?

I suppose it would depend on who is doing the explaining. A bad explanation might be worse than no explanation at all.

I would much rather ask questions that lead to more questions than to just accept what I'm told any day. When one stops adapting to the growing world, the world passes them by and they lose touch with what's going on. You then are forced to rely on others to help you navigate the new aspects of the world that you neglected to learn. I don't like living at the mercy or convenience of others.

This can be applied to anything -especially in dealing with the nature of existence.

Why is one better?

'leaving existence unexplained,' would be an anti-science thinking. It is true the ultimate nature of our physical existence may not ever be explained, but the goal of science is to always push the limits of the unknown to discover and explore and expand the boundaries of our knowledge.

No problem with unsolved questions, like the Dark energy. The answer may not be known in my life-time. Leave it for future generations.

Now that is your view with which I will not agree. How do you know what will happen in future. Science is working on that, perhaps the answer will be found in Quantum Mechanics. Do not the virtual articles arise out of nothing!

Imagine you go to heaven and are handed all the answers.

I sure would not like it.

Just free access for things no amount of study
would ever reveal.

Even if you were god that would be a terrible existence. No matter what you created, you'd know what would happen. There would be no reason to do anything, because you'd already know the outcome. There'd be no challenge and no mystery.

Applying that idea to the concept of real world gods seems interesting to me. It would also explain their fixations with what mortals are doing, since mortals would exist in a state they couldn't experience, and that'd probably be somewhat interesting for those gods. That said, they'd still know what the mortals would ultimately do and how they would react. It'd all be in vain.
