To help a family

I understand that as I learn more on the Druid path and learning of other paths as well, I have been doing whatever I can to help my mother and my brother as well as my aunt and grandmother My mother and brother are needing my help at the moment as they could not find good sustaining jobs until my brother went to train at a truck driving school.

To help the family I stayed behind to get a job to help my mom and brother and hopefully when they are on their feet, I will go into the service, most likely the navy. He had thought of getting a job as a truck driver as it would help us also move back to our original home, Missouri instead of Florida where it is much cheaper and the laws aren't as silly. Truck driving would make some money and it is a good traveling job as it allows us to move in different areas. The thing is with the driving school and really schools in general, I have noticed they teach the absolute bare minimum even when it comes to driving something as dangerous as a truck and coupled with the fact that my brother has low self esteem and afraid of being a failure of the family, it does not help when he has trainers say one thing and another trainer will another thing which makes it more confusing. We do try and support him and he appreciates it and he is doing his first solo job. I just wish they would train him a little more so he would feel ready. I always felt like so many schools are just interested in pumping out people rather than really educating them and making them more competent.

I always wondered what I could do aside from just supporting the family financially. I have been praying and thinking of rituals to help, which it has in the past, when it comes to both of us getting new jobs and thinking what I can do to help him. Seeing if I could even help my aunt and grandmother as one of my aunts died recently and they are devastated it and financially unstable to where they will need to sell their house.

Any good vibes or energy will not be forgotten. We appreciate any prayers, good energy and support really. It's all I can really do I suppose, I just wish I could do more.

Good vibes is all I can offer at the moment but I hope things do improve for your family. It can be frustrating to "want" to help but not being able to do more ...

Wishing you all the best and hope you get even more good vibes from this forum.

Cheers!

We appreciate any prayers, good energy and support really. It's all I can really

It's not by prayers that others could be helped, yet those prayers are ones own merits in sharing good thoughts.

Three things, good householder, are praised by the wise: generosity, rendering help for ones parents and renouncing.

Helping family is also one of the highest blessings:

...To support mother and father, to cherish wife and children, and to be engaged in peaceful occupation — this is the greatest blessing.

To be generous in giving, to be righteous in conduct,[11] to help one's relatives, and to be blameless in action — this is the greatest blessing....
One owes much to ones parents and supporter:

Kataññu Suttas: Gratitude

" I will teach you the level of a person of no integrity and the level of a person of integrity. Listen & pay close attention. I will speak."

"As you say, lord," the monks responded.

The Blessed One said, "Now what is the level of a person of no integrity? A person of no integrity is ungrateful & unthankful. This ingratitude, this lack of thankfulness, is advocated by rude people. It is entirely on the level of people of no integrity. A person of integrity is grateful & thankful. This gratitude, this thankfulness, is advocated by civil people. It is entirely on the level of people of integrity."

{II,iv,2} "I tell you, monks, there are two people who are not easy to repay. Which two? Your mother & father. Even if you were to carry your mother on one shoulder & your father on the other shoulder for 100 years, and were to look after them by anointing, massaging, bathing, & rubbing their limbs, and they were to defecate & urinate right there [on your shoulders], you would not in that way pay or repay your parents. If you were to establish your mother & father in absolute sovereignty over this great earth, abounding in the seven treasures, you would not in that way pay or repay your parents. Why is that? Mother & father do much for their children. They care for them, they nourish them, they introduce them to this world. But anyone who rouses his unbelieving mother & father, settles & establishes them in conviction; rouses his unvirtuous mother & father, settles & establishes them in virtue; rouses his stingy mother & father, settles & establishes them in generosity; rouses his foolish mother & father, settles & establishes them in discernment: To this extent one pays & repays one's mother & father."

And as possible seen after the blessing having rendered assistance "and to be blameless in action" is an importand part, since conducting wrong for whoms ever sake, would lead not only to no real help but to bad destinations:

"What do you think Dhanañjani? There is the case where a certain person, for the sake of his wife & children ... his slaves & workers ... his friends & companions ... his kinsmen & relatives ... his guests ... his departed ancestors ... the devatas ... the king, does what is unrighteous, does what is discordant. Then, because of his unrighteous, discordant behavior, hell-wardens drag him off to hell. Would he gain anything by saying, 'I did what is unrighteous, what is discordant, for the sake of the king. Don't [throw] me into hell, hell-wardens!' Or would the king gain anything for him by saying, 'He did what is unrighteous, what is discordant, for our sake. Don't [throw] him into hell, hell-wardens!'?"

"No, master Sariputta. Even right while he was wailing, they'd cast him into hell."

...Dhanañjani Sutta: To Dhanañjani

And this is why the gift of teaching the right way, the gift of Dhamma excels every gift. What ever material thing wouldn't help, wouldn't prevent you beloved from bad destinies and long term suffering.

So by the power of the Dhamma, may you and your beloved conduct well to become at ease:

Dukkhappattā ca niddukkhā
Bhayappattā ca nibbhayā
Sokappattā ca nissokā
Hontu sabbe pi pāṇino.
May all beings:
who have fallen into suffering be without suffering,
who have fallen into danger be without danger,
who have fallen into sorrow be without sorrow.

Ettāvatā ca amhehi
Sambhataṃ puñña-sampadaṃ
Sabbe devānumodantu
Sabba-sampatti-siddhiyā.
For the sake of all attainment & success
May all heavenly beings rejoice
In the extent to which we have gathered a consummation of merit.

Dānaṃ dadantu saddhāya
Sīlaṃ rakkhantu sabbadā
Bhāvanābhiratā hontu
Gacchantu devatāgatā.
May they give gifts with conviction, may they always maintain virtue,
May they delight in meditation, may they go to a heavenly destination.
Sabbe buddhā balappattā
Paccekānañca yaṃ balaṃ
Arahantānañca tejena
Rakkhaṃ bandhāmi sabbaso.
From the strength attained by all the Buddhas,
The strength of the Private Buddhas,
By the power of the arahants,
I bind this protection all around.

My brother, you are doing the right thing that matters most for you, and that be all that counts....

Sometimes life can be hard at times..but really! Its telling you something else..if you look deep enough into it..it might be telling you have patience...for it is rearranging your pathway,..it’s always the best way to follow because it might have a better idea of your pathway..that’s if you listen and have patience for it..don’t let money get the best out of your situation..enjoy your moment you have with your love ones..and when things change for the better..Life itself will give you a sign for you to approach!..don’t stress! Trust me!.follow your heart it will lead you the right way!..I will keep you and your family in prayers...do not worry! Ok..

There were some things that were ok such as me keeping my job. Some things have not gotten better as my aunt had died and one of my other aunts has lymphoma. She is holding strong still and working so I believe she will get better.

My brother lost his job as a trucker so our income is down a little and we have to save more to find a cheaper place as our place only gets more expensive with the rent. He is trying to find a job and my grandmother and other aunt is dealing with some financial issues since my oldest aunt died suddenly. I am thinking of certain blessings I can do for my family and asking my deities for any help

If any here have any prayers or good energy to send, please we need all the help we can get.
