Whistleblower to IRS: "Mormon Church has amassed $100 billion in tax-empt fund

URAVIP2ME

An investigation published by the Washington Post Monday night focuses on a complaint filed by a whistle-blower who alleges the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints holds $100 billion in a charitable fund from member donations that hasn’t been spent in over 20 years—but is instead reportedly intended for the “second coming of Christ.”....................

Before the ' second coming ' a bad economy could cause ' the powers that be ' to see the wealth the religions have amassed to be easy for their taking.
Before the ' second coming ' the political will surprisingly turn on the religious world .
- 1 Peter 4:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3
So, No amount of wealth will be of any value - Ezekiel 7:19; Zephaniah 1:18.

Friends @Dan From Smithville and @Jedster !

Did one find out the clues in my post #177?.
  1. "but his (Jesus') bones were not broken by the Romans
  2. so that he (Jesus) survives
  3. but of course he died later naturally
  4. when he () was very old."
This is also a good news for the Christians and LDS. Their beloved Jesus did not die on the Cross though Judaism people tried their best. Right, please?
The money collected to welcome "Second Coming", if there is any such money ,therefore, should be donated voluntarily to the Charity "Humanity First Canada". Right, please?

Regards

I didn't think it was possible for the Mormons to be more repugnant. The September Six and all those like them, and now this.

Didn't know what "September Six" was. I Googled the topic.
The views of these six seem to be rather radical, even Marxist,
radical feminist and PC cultural stuff. These people wouldn't
be comfortable in most conservative churches.

Sounds like Radical Revisionist stuff.
It's the testimonial of about six contemporary people that Jesus died on the cross.
The Old Testament prophecies of him spoke of him not only dying for His people
but dying upon a cross.

Perhaps they will be impressed by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s English revelations, such as, “We can what we will do”.1

My own opinion on all this stuff is that people should have their own experiences and not rely on books written years ago by, now dead, persons.
I mean look at the enmity between peoples because of how they differently interpret the same book(s).
The majority of the Muslim world do not recognise Ahmadis or Bahais and persecute both groups.

If people put away their scriptures and had an honest look at what is in their own experiences, and based their communications on that, the human race might be able to progress beyond this continual conflict or 'I am right..you are wrong'.

As the author of the Amrtabindu Upanishad has written

The sage should study the scriptures in his search
for knowledge; but then he should leave them, like the
chaff that is left behind, when the grains
of rice have been winnowed

This would apply to economics and political science too?
Imagine if we couldn't learn from history, if the only philosophers
we knew were those alive today - trying to re-learn ideas that
other generations knew by reading Socrates and Plato.
Imagine, nothing transmitted from the past. It's a strange thought -
all the books burned, the museums shut down, statues destroyed.

And it would be even more terrifying for religion. The great moral
codes of the past, the story of the Jewish people, the Messiah,
etc.. All trashed. Everyone becomes their own god. You only obey
the rules that accord with your moral viewpoint.

People would quickly be preyed upon by all sorts of existentialist
and Marxist devils.

I was trying to say that many of the books have almost become deified, not to burn them.
As time passes, it is clear that some laws and attitudes are simply wrong, but noone will change them because of what is written is believed to be sacrosanct. These books should not set a precedent, but they do in the minds of many.
I think that people do not believe in them-selves enough.

There are always claims of evidence. Then claims it will soon be provided. Then it is never provided.

It is consistent pattern.

Interestingly, one of the books that has become deified contains within it a rule against creating false idols.

I provided the clues.
The first one is:
"but his (Jesus') bones were not broken by the Romans"

Jesus had a sturdy/strong body and physique, he was for a few hours only on the Cross, he had all the possibility to live and survive. The Roman official Pilate*:
  1. did not find Jesus to be guilty
  2. Pilate's wife had also seen a dream to that effect
  3. She prevailed upon Pilate so that Jesus does not die
  4. Pilate washed off his hands in token of the above
Pilate could not free Jesus openly, so he maneuvered internally/secretly like his bones were not broken. Isn't it a good clue, please?
Right, please?
It is a good and happy news for the Christians that Jesus, their beloved did not die on the Cross.Right, please?
Somebody quoted from OT Bible Torah that reads in Jewish Torah** Psalms 34:19-20 "21 He guards all his bones; not one of them was broken."<Tehillim - Psalms - Chapter 34jewish/Chapter-34.htm>. Though Jesus' name is not mentioned in it (here comments of our Jewish friend @RabbiO are welcome, if he likes to), but if it pertains to Jesus it is also a clue that Jesus was not going to die on the Cross, and that is what actually, I understand, happened. Right, please?

"Whistleblower to IRS: "Mormon Church has amassed $100 billion in tax-empt fund' "
Suffices it to say that if there is any money collected in the name of Jesus or Jesus' Second Coming with any Christian denomination, as I am given to understand, it is to be donated to the charity "Humanity First Canada". No harm in it. Right, please?

Regards

Not at all. I just care if there are tax rules that are being avoided/broken. Avoiding taxes is exactly tantamount to robbing the American people. And even Mormon's must agree that ought to be wrong.

And you have jumped to the conclusion that such tax laws have, indeed, been broken?

why?

I already know you cannot provide the evidence. You do not have to work so hard to convince me of that.

By the way, although many Latter-day Saints certainly have skeletons in their closets, and while almost all ancient prophets did, I am confident that no modern prophet or apostle in the LDS Church has anything serious enough to be called a skeleton.
They are human. Even your Bible will not support your claim they have no skeletons. Them being an organization of humans does not support your claim.
