I am an LGBTQI+ affirming bisexual Christian, ask me questions!

Revelation 3:10
Okay, so first off, most people have to rely on translations of the Bible only, and no translation is 100% perfectly faithful to the original languages. I feel the King James Version is the best Bible, in that I don't believe it is as homophobic as others. Also, David loved Jonathan more than women. Say I am wrong however. I do not believe acceptance of a right are synonymous with agreeing with it. Hate speech and crimes against LGBTQI+ are a serious problem in many countries. I get so mad at bakers and other businesses that force their hate on us. Let me make this crystal clear: The vast majority of LGBTQI+ plus people stick to consenting adults, so please just chill. I am also a progressive, if you can't tell.

I think you have a translation problem here.

English has an unfortunate lack of words denoting various kinds of attraction and relationships. We use "love" for almost everything.

Personally,

I love my mom.
I love my partner.
I love cheeseburgers.
I love freedom.
I love Tolkien.
I love sprouting plants in springtime.

The word love means very different things in all of these examples.

Assuming that the word used in the Bible, that gets translated as "love" in English, has an erotic component is a serious mistake.

Not native speaking english person, but was just wondering, if that is a slang or something, or if you did in fact mean bakers, i mean like those that make bread and stuff? :)

What? Me worry?

So are you saying that people should accept your belief even though you do not want to accept the belief of others?

So in your view, the bible says that active homosexuality is okay?

Seeing the Gay Christian 101 link sent me back to a memory. I remember I was in high-school, sitting in one of my favorite classes, sitting there reading homophobic article after homophobic article. The intent was working up the courage to commit suicide. Because hey, if I'm this screwed beyond repair, why bother continuing? I was so overcome with dread about potentially going to hell for being attracted to girls that I couldn't find the energy to do or think about anything else. Finding the Gay Christian 101 site actually saved my life.

My question is this: Is it hard for you to stay Christian despite the attitudes from the community ranging from abusive to disapproving (though obviously not always)?

Yep.

Everyone should be treated equally in the public sphere. If your religion forbids that, then go somewhere else.

That is a lie and a strawman. I accept all human rights whether I agree with them or not. I don't owe anyone agreement, but I will lend my support for a democracy in which everyone is included. You don't have the right to lie about me, and I will block you, if it happens again.

Do you believe that a public declaration changes what is written in the Bible and what was shown in teaching and practice for 1900 so years?

All the best

It's happened before.
People used to justify slavery, genocide, and oppression using the Bible.

Now they don't, mostly.

Do you believe that the bible is the infallible word of god, or do you feel it's written by fallible men inspired by god? Also, what are your thoughts on other religions?

You note Revelation 3:10 as part of your identity. Does this verse have anything to do with the OP? And why just 3:10 and not the surrounding verses which to me affect the meaning one can derive?

People can justify many things, I know, I am one, but in the end what we have to ask ourselves, if we align with a specific belief, what is it, that the Faith is realy teaching?

Man likes to make a belief fit their worldly view and ignore the difficult choices Faith puts in our way.

I don't have a question, but just wanted to say that there are many people who love you for the way you are, and won't send you hate or veiled hate. Best wishes.
