I am new and I'm sure you know that, is there a way to clear my alerts I've only been here barely two days and I can't keep up, and one person said something about me placing a post in the wrong category is there any way you could help me understand the categories better thanks, and also I was wondering about the warning points what gives you those cuz I don't want any.

Im not going to give you hints and tips on getting RF the way you want it or on being a good boy, you have had loads of good advice on the previous page.

What i am going to do is say welcome to RF, sit back, buckle up and enjoy the free cakes in the staff canteen

You alerts should clear automatically.

The categories mostly speak for themselves but if you misplace a topic it's not generally a rule violation and it will be moved. Please see the rules for how to conduct yourself and not have warnings given you.

Thanks.
so I don't know if you guys are like sitting there watching all these conversation or how that works or whatever but I think I just drove in head-first not knowing what I was getting myself into, I'm having a real hard time keeping up, once you create a post can it be deleted or does it stay? Thanks

I'm under the impression it generally stays. But... if a staff member tells you otherwise, listen to them instead of me.

OH!

I think I know what's happening. Is it possible that you're seeing cached copies of the pages when you hit the back button? That happens to me.

You can probably test it out in this thread. Create a post. Delete it. Go click on a misc. link on the page, maybe a new thread or something. Then click "back". Do you see your deleted post? If so, "refresh".

Just log out and don't come back.
Tom

Yep. We will miss you, but there is another solution as well, if he keeps coming back but doesn't want to...

It's, go to change password, try to change it to a random string of copy + paste letters and numbers you can't remember, and then it's done.

Or, you can just talk to staff about what can or can't be done.

Does that take care of the emails that I will get also?
you can do what I did when I left the last time. figure out some random email address and put that in.
IT will stop emails coming to your current email, but should you choose to come back, you will have to update your contact info

so the other guy said if I get warning points or enough of them I can get a t-shirt or whatever so I get merchandise for breaking the rules?
Actually, we just get personal thank-yous from staff.

Caution:
If you go to the "Home" page, & click on "Terms & Rules", this doesn't actually have
the rules. Instead, go to the "Forums" page, & click on "Forum Rules & Guidelines".
This has most of the almost current rules.

Oh my, did I say that!

It depends.

You write interesting and thought provoking posts. You've never been mean, as far as I recall.
But the flip side of that is "If you never fail you aren't trying hard enough!"

Spread your rule violations out over time and you're good to go.
Tom

And don't make a fuss about any even if they are wrong!

So is the ban thing still in effect, I would like to ask for a permanent ban, I don't really want to argue with people and I don't really see any way of avoiding it, as long as I have an account it's just way too tempting to do so, any help would be greatly appreciated?

I could probably help you block the website on your phone, pc, whatever it is... if it's electronic I could probably figure out a way to block this for you.

It would be... free IT help from your buddy, Dybmh.

send me PM if you want some help from this perspective.

sincerely,

What is PM?
I am so sorry bro... I'll reach out to you... you'll see a little red indicator show up next to the little envelope icon...

PM is a private message... but just forget about that for now... you should see a little icon pop-up... near the envelop icon... top right corner of the screen... i think...

when you hover over it, or click on it, tap on it... you should see the Private Message I sent you. Open that up... and poof...
we can talk about whatever you want.. including how to block access to this site, if you so desire.

Here's a little screenshot to give you an idea of what it will look like on your end...

@Alone , You can also ask for a voluntary ban. To retrieve the account you would have to write an email asking to have it re-instated.
