Not all of us are so convinced that the details of ancient stories are completely accurate.

That is a good point. Nevertheless, the story encapsulates an attitude which is disturbing, and justifies questionable treatment of women and girls.
All history is questionable. The stories people choose reflect their present views.

Marrying a 6 year old is not ok even for Muhommad.

Was she really six? I have read in some accounts that she was 14 to 16 years old, which for that time in history was common. Mary the mother of Jesus is thought to have been about that age.

But nobody knows what really happened.

By the standards of the time and place, Muhammad was a raging feminist. This might be because his first, and real, wife was a strong, confident, savvy woman.

And then there's the obvious fact that a powerful warlord like Muhammad didn't need to marry to get young stuff. Men would throw their hot daughters at dudes like him, hoping for influence. Muhammad could have had hot and cold running slave girls if he wanted that. Obviously, he didn't.

There's lots about 7th century Islamic ethics I find abominable. But Muhammad's relationships with women isn't one of them.

I'm sorry Rival.
But by making your thread about an ancient and poorly evidenced event, one that still creates debate, you took it out of the realm of journal and into historical debate territory.

Well it was perfectly well for the society at that time, people around them happily performed the wedding no one said anything about age even Aisha's father was OK with it but I dont understand why you cant sleep over it maybe you should try seeking professional help

I think it quite telling how often people who dislike Islam want to talk about Aisha, but don't seem to even know about Khadijah.
