Matthew 16:21 The First Prediction of the Passion.
From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly from the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.” He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”

In Matthew 16, Jesus identifies Satan as standing right next to Him. Had the Disciples drawn their swords and killed the one Jesus identified as Satan, would they have killed Satan?
In Revelation 12, was there a, ‘dragon’ (known as the devil or Satan), trying to kill Jesus at His birth, or is this verse symbolically describing man’s evil human pride in secular power, Herod, trying to kill Jesus at His birth?
Revelation 12:1 The Woman and the Dragon.
A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadems. Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth.

Matthew 2:12
Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.

Isaiah 14 talks about man’s evil human pride in world dominant secular power, king Nebuchadnezzar. King Nebuchadnezzar conquered Israel, and is the first to rule over Israel, upon their exile into captivity. King Nebuchadnezzar is described as, a ‘morning star’ ('morning star' is another term for angel) that falls from ‘the heavens’. 2 Samuel 23, describes a ‘morning light’ as one who rules over people on earth. Scripture indicates that it is king Nebuchadnezzar’s evil human pride which makes him think he is a god in ‘the heavens’.
Isaiah 14:12 The King of Babylon.
How have you fallen from the heavens, O morning star, son of the dawn! How are you cut down to the ground, you who mowed down the nations! You said in your heart: 'I will scale the heavens; Above the stars of God I will set up my throne; I will take my seat on the Mount of Assembly, in the recesses of the North. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will be like the Most High!' Yet down to the nether world you go to the recesses of the pit!

Lucifer
The name Lucifer originally denotes the planet Venus, emphasizing its brilliance. The Vulgate employs the word also for "the light of the morning" (Job 11:17), "the signs of the zodiac" (Job 38:32), and "the aurora" (Psalm 109:3). Metaphorically, the word is applied to the King of Babylon (Isaiah 14:12) as preeminent among the princes of his time; to the high priest Simon son of Onias (Ecclesiasticus 50:6), for his surpassing virtue, to the glory of heaven (Apocalypse 2:28), by reason of its excellency; finally to Jesus Christ himself (2 Peter 1:19; Apocalypse 22:16; the "Exultet" of Holy Saturday) the true light of our spiritual life.

I think Archangel Michael defeating ‘Satan’, ‘in heaven’, just as Jesus is enthroned as King and Ruler of the world, is symbolic for Jesus’ and His Angels, delivering us from ‘the evil one’, which is man's evil human pride in Gentile secular power, as we enter into Jesus ‘Kingdom Come’, on earth. Jesus will Rule with and through His Church, the Catholic Church.
Acts 26:17
I shall deliver you from this people and from the Gentiles to whom I send you, to open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may obtain forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been consecrated by faith in me.

Revelation 12
...Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. Although the dragon and his angels fought back, they were overpowered and lost their place in heaven. The huge dragon, the ancient serpent known as the devil or Satan, the seducer of the whole world, was driven out; he was hurled down to earth and his minions with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have salvation and power come, the reign of our God and the authority of his Anointed One.

Matthew 6:9 The Lord's Prayer
"This is how you are to pray: 'Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name,
"This is how you are to pray: 'Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done on earth as it is in heaven ...//... Subject us not to trial but
deliver us from the evil one.'
