You are actually in a good position to be an artist, then, as you have a lot of time to yourself. If I had that kind of situation, I would be making artworks as a full time "job". And then when I had a pile of the stuff, I'd try to get it out into the world. I might even make a little money from it, who knows? Or I might get invited to show some of it in a nearby city, where there are more progressive thinking people to meet. (Now that you have the internet, you could use it to make gallery directors in the cities familiar with your work.)
Wouldn't it be a weird and fun thing to try? Whatever the medium ... music, literature, visual arts, ... maybe explore your creative spirit.
Just sayin.
I stopped watching Television in 2013 and have worked towards cutting down time on the internet for the past two years. I use the "waste no time" app on google chrome to block the internet, so I get most of the day free for other pursuits. I have got a bit lapse over the past week or so, but it has given me a great deal of space to read books and listen to music. I usually have a pile of books on my desk that I keep trying to get myself reading.
I have now got to the point where I am keeping notebooks and writing in them daily. (I'm on book three at the moment, but will hit book four within a week I think). It's not about important things, but it's the fact I'm writing that counts. If I get enough practice, I might well be able to write a novel or something. You have to get used to the work load and finding your own style and voice to become a good writer. I have wanted to for a long time but we'll see. I'll keep working away and it will build up eventually.
