Who was a better President, Richard M. Nixon or Donald J. Trump?

Is Donald J. Trump a better President than Richard M. Nixon was?

  • Donald J. Trump is equally horrible as U.S. President as was Abraham Lincoln.

Richard Nixon did some good things in his time as President. He got the U.S. out of Vietnam, he signed the clean air act, he created the office of Management and Budget. But he also pursued a law enforcement policy that was intentionally designed to oppress minorities which has been a disaster till this day. And of course he abused his power to interfere with the election process.

So is Trump worse? Or better?

While it's stupid to compare the two, I am glad to see so many liberals waking up to the fact that Nixon was actually a good man.

...Ultimately, Bill Clinton's three strikes law was the most devastating law enforcement policy for minorities within any recent history -which Joe Biden was all for, BTW. Far, far worse than anything Nixon did.

Bill Clinton regrets 'three strikes'

There is no doubt.

While I do tend to scrutinize his personality time to time, there is no doubt his policies so far have real weight and benefits for the American citizen.

The president is keeping his promises. I'm better off now than I ever am with the Socialists. Thats for damn sure.
That may be, in your case. But the fact is that wages have been stagnant for decades and social mobility and "opportunity" are diminishing. People were generally more free and better of before Roosevelt's New Deal and Johnson's Great Society were undermined by Neoliberals. The economy is not doing well for the 99%

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

I think a lot of the state of affairs is brought upon ourselves collectively too.

We keep feeding those who gouge us and take extreme advantages.

One of those head scratcher's I suppose.

Good point: Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it, as are those who rely on corporate owned mainstream media like Network news, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, &c, which often fail to report corporate propaganda, congressional machinations, stealth legislation, &c.

Look deeper; behind the propaganda. The right-wing is not a friend of the common man.

How so? His war on drugs was not good, and he deliberately prolonged the Vietnam war.

I thought this scene was rather interesting, where Howard Hunt is describing Nixon as "the darkness reaching out for the darkness."

I don't know if the same could be said about Trump. He seems more like "the dumbness reaching out for the dumbness."

And then there was this scene:

I don't know if dinner with Melania would be similar to this, although it would probably be fast food.
