Christians believe the same physical body of Jesus returning because that is the Church teaching, but that is never going to happen. Physical bodies do not ascend into the clouds and they do not live in heaven because heaven is a purely spiritual world. The soul of Jesus is in heaven in a spiritual body and there He will stay, at the right hand of God.

Acts 1:10-11 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The disciples were staring up into the sky. The two men dressed in white (angels) came along and asked why they were staring up into the sky. The two men then wondered why the disciples were staring up into the sky and said that the same Jesus who was taken up to heaven will return as he went to heaven. It does not say that the disciple saw a body go up.

It was the Christ Spirit that ascended, not a body, which is why the angels wondered why the disciples were staring into the sky, since there was nothing to look at. That makes sense since angels can see spirits. Descending from heaven upon the clouds means that the spirit of Jesus, the Christ Spirit, will be made manifest from the heaven of the will of God and will appear in the form of a human being who had the Christ Spirit. Though delivered from the womb of Mary, the soul of Jesus that has always existed descended from heaven, by the will of God.

NOTHING in the Bible says that Jesus was going to return. Christians just assumed all these verses were about Jesus, but they were not about Jesus.
These verses are not about the same man Jesus returning.
They are about the return of the Christ Spirit in another man.
Jesus never planned to return and Jesus never said He was going to return. That is why we never saw Jesus return even though the prophecies have all been fulfilled.

The Second Coming is not the second coming of Jesus.

The Apostles did not even write the NT, but aside from that, those who wrote it did not say that the same man Jesus was going to return. Many verses were assumed to be about Jesus but they were not about Jesus.

Jesus said He was NOT going to return to earth. He told the truth and that is why you won't ever see Jesus again on earth.

JESUS never said he was not going to come to the world. JOHN 17:11 is prior to his death and crucufixtion and ressurrection, praying for his disciples that would remain in the world after his death and resurrection. JESUS never said he was not going to come to the world. You need to look at the newer translations of the Bible. Almost all of them say end of an age.
The Spirit of Christ did return at the end of the age and ushered in a new age in 1844.

Revelation 22:12 And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

It is the end of the world as we know it at the second coming...

Psalms 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

Jeremiah speaks of the Lord as roaring from on high. It will be very tempestuous.

Jeremiah 25:30 The Lord shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout."

The earth will start to respond to this tempestuous God coming toward it...

Isaiah 24:19-20 The earth is violently broken, The earth is split open, The earth is shaken exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, And shall totter like a hut; Its transgression shall be heavy upon it, And it will fall, and not rise again.

The earth will be self-destructing in front of the eyes of the wicked and their hears will fail them for fear. And they start to realize that it is going to get worse.

Luke 21:26-27 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

In terror, the wicked will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud and they will hunt for holes and caves to craw into so they don't have to see what is coming.

Isaiah 2:19-21 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

It is the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb that they want to hide from.

Revelation 6:14-17 And the heaven [sky] departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places." The wicked, those who are left, will mainly be destroyed by the brightness of God who is coming. All the wicked will perish in that day.

Here is the description of the final battle as it is described in Revelation. In verse 21 we see that the remnant of the wicked are slain with the sword.

Revelation 19:19-21 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

If you were to read Revelation 19 starting with verse 11, you would find that the one who rides the horse is Jesus. Because of His great wrath all the wicked are slain and no one is left on the earth. Friend, I do not want you to die with the wicked.

Please consider the fact that Jesus loves us and that He would rather have no one experience destruction but destruction is coming and the end of the world is coming ready or not..

2 Peter 3:9-12 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Revelation 22:12 Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
