1. That God's 4th commandments 7th day Sabbath has been abolished and we are commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day?
Everyday is holy including Sunday. No days are unholy. Sabbath days was abolished a long time ago
WRONG! I asked for scripture. Where does it say in God's Word everday is holy and God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?
2. That Jesus is a Sabbath?
Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath Sabbath is rest, the kingdom of God is truly the rest
WRONG! I asked for scripture. The question was where does it say JESUS is the Sabbath?
3. The Sabbath (seventh day) was ever changed from the seventh to the first day of the week?
Only people changed it.
CORRECT! So if there is no scripture that says that the Sabbath was changed from the seventh day of the week to Sunday you agree that Sunday worship is a man made tradition and teaching that breaks God's 4th commandment.
4. Where we are told to keep the first day of the week holy?
Including Monday which is the second day to Saturday which is the seventh day.
WRONG! Where is the scripture that says we are told to keep Sunday as a Holy day?
5. Where the first day of the week (Sunday) is ever called a holy day? Is Sunday an unholy day? What I know God made the first day.
WRONG! Where is the scripture that says the first day of the week (Sunday) is ever called a holy day?
6. That says that Jesus ever kept the first day (Sunday)?
I'm sure he spent a couple of Sundays in the wilderness to complete his forty days and forty nights.
WRONG! We are talking about keeping Sunday as a holy day.
7. That tells us to keep the first day in honour of the resurrection of Christ?
Jesus Christ died on the cross Friday afternoon [3:00 pm] He spent 3 days buried Monday, he rose from the dead
WRONG! Where is the scripture that tells us to keep the first day of the week in honour of the resurrection of Chist?
8. Where the first day is ever given any sacred name?
Sunday when God created the sun and saw the light was good.
WRONG! There is no scripture from God's Word giving Sunday a sacred name.
9. That affirms that any of the apostles ever kept the first day ? What?
WRONG! The question is in reference to asking for scriptures to show that the Apostles kept Sunday as a holy day of rest. You have not answered it.
10. From any apostolic writings that authorizes Sunday observance as the Sabbath of God?
Sabbath was abolished repealed 500 years before Christ was born So there are no apostolic writings pertaining to that.
WRONG! You keep changing your story. You were shown from the scriptures alone to be in error in post # 257 linked. The scriptures you supplied in Hosea 2:11 and Isaiah 1:13 and Lamentations from Jeremiah are the announcment of God's punishment to ISRAEL for Idolatry and their captivity to the Assyrians. Jesus and the Apostles all continued keeping the Sabbath in the new testament.
11. Where we are told not to work on the first day of the week?
You can work overtime. No problemo!
CORRECT! So Sunday is not a Holy day of rest now is it?
12. That says the seventh day is no longer God's Sabbath day?
Sabbath was abolished repealed 500 years before Christ was born
No problemo!
13. That says the seventh day Sabbath is ABOLISHED?
No problemo
WRONG! see above.
14. Where the apostles ever taught any convert to keep the first day of the week as a Sabbath?
They told to ignore them.
Colssians 2:16 [ Freedom From Human Rules ] Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
WRONG! The laws and sabbaths in ordinances from the MOSAIC book of the old covenant are not God's 4th commandment. Colossians 2:16 does not say Sabbath day it says Sabbath days (plural) or Sabbaths. Your mixing up shadow laws with God's 10 commandments. Detailed scripture proof showing why you are in error; with a detailed within scripture and chapter context review of Colossians 3 provided
1. Here linked; 2. Here linked; 3. Here linked; 4. Here linked; 5. Here linked; 6. Here linked;
15. Where the first day was ever appointed to be kept as the Lord's Day?
1 Corinthians 16:2 Living Bible (TLB)
On every Lord’s Day each of you should put aside something from what you have earned during the week, and use it for this offering. The amount depends on how much the Lord has helped you earn. Don’t wait until I get there and then try to collect it all at once.
WRONG! Well brother now your simply not being honest. Every translation I have looked at does not say as you claim "On every Lords day" Even your own disclaimer says "The Living Bible is a personal paraphrase, not a translation, of the Bible in English by Kenneth N. Taylor and first published in 1971.
Genres: Religious text, Reference work
16. Where the first day of the week is ever called the Lord's Day?
1 Corinthians 16:2 Expanded Bible (EXB) On the first day of every week [C Sunday], each one of you should put aside money ·as you have been blessed [or what you can afford; L whatever one prospers]. Save it up so you will not have to collect money after I come.
WRONG! Well brother now your simply not being honest. 1 Corinthians 16:2 does not say "Lords day" (κυριακός ἡμέρα). It says on the first day of the week (μία σάββατον).
17. That says that the first day of the week was ever sanctified and hallowed as a day of rest?
18. That says that the Father or the Son (Jesus) rested on the first day of the week?
19. That says that Jesus, Paul or any other of the apostles taught anyone to observe the first day of the week as the Sabbath?
20. That calls the seventh day the “Jewish Sabbath” or one text that calls Sunday the “Christian Sabbath”?
WRONG! Well brother unanswered is also wrong but do not be disheartened. There is no scripture.
21. Telling man to keep the first day of the week holy or to worship or rest on the first day of the week?
The Israelites were told not man Not even Adam, Noah and the patriarchs observe the Sabbath Need the rest - forced rest On their march in the wilderness The Israelites are the exclusive people ordered by God to observe the Sabbath until it was ABOLISHED
WRONG! Well brother what? There is no scripture telling man to keep the first day of the week holy.
22. Authorizing anyone to set aside God's Sabbath and observe any other day?
23. Showing any of the apostles keeping the first day of the week as the Sabbath?
24. Authorizing someone to set aside the fourth Commandment and observe any other day of the week?
25. Where any apostle taught us to keep the first day of the week as the Sabbath?
26. Declaring that the seventh day is no longer the Eternal Sabbath day?
27. Where Sunday is now appointed to be kept as the New Testament Sabbath or holy day?
WRONG! Well brother unanswered is also wrong but do not be disheartened. There is no scripture.

.............

Now brother if you have no scripture and as you have correctly stated Sunday worship is a man made teaching and tradition of men that breaks the commandments of God, who are you following; God or man?

May you receive God's Word and be blessed. Ignoring it does not make it disappear.

There are no more Jews [not to mention no more Israelites] and no more Greeks [Gentiles]
I am Filipino and your nationality, I do not know.

The new covenant is for the true Church - that I agree.
If you are following the old covenant, what makes you? An obsolete religion?

Romans 9:27 New International Version (NIV)
Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.

only the remnant will be saved like 144,000

Do you belong to the tribe of Judah?
Reuben? Gad? Asher? Napthali? Manessah? Levi?

Your just repeating yourself. There is a detailed scripture response showing that Gods' ISRAEL in the new covenant are all those who believe and follow God's Word provided below. Gentiles are now grafted in *Romans 11:13-27. If you are not a part of God's Israel you have no part in the new covenant *Hebrews 8:10-12.

More scriptures provided here....

God's Israel in the new testament who is it ?

May you receive God's Word and be blessed. Ignoring it does not make it disappear.

You are not an Israelite for one thing.
All Israelites are gone - dead and disappeared through intermarriages with other races.
However, you are free to practice your delusions.
Its fun like being in a cosplay.

upload_2019-11-23_15-53-55.jpeg

There is a holy day, sure and that is everyday.
Now if there is unholy day, ring me a bell so I would be informed.

You can practice Sabbath day - why not?
Even if the Sabbath day has been repealed a long time ago.
Sure you can practice that like people are practicing their delusions.
If you are having fun, why let others stop you?

But at the end of the day everything like the Sabbath are shadows of things to come

Now is it OK to switch on the lights on Sabbath nights?

Well these are your words and your only repeating your words that are not God's Word. I prefer to believe God's Word which are not your words but God's Word and according to God's Word (not my words), Gods' ISRAEL in the new covenant are all those who believe and follow God's Word provided below. Gentiles are now grafted in *Romans 11:13-27. If you are not a part of God's Israel you have no part in the new covenant *Hebrews 8:10-12.

Once again more of your words that are not God's Word but your words. There is no scripture that says everyday is a Holy day. God's Word however says he blessed the "seventh day" and made it a Holy day or rest *GENESIS 2:1-3 which is "THE LORDS DAY *MATTHEW 12:8 that he made for all mankind *MARK 2:27.
You can practice Sabbath day - why not? Even if the Sabbath day has been repealed a long time ago. Sure you can practice that like people are practicing their delusions. If you are having fun, why let others stop you?
Once again more of your words that are not God's Word but your words. As shown through the scriptures already God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *JAMES 2:10-11 and according to God's Word (not my words) if we knowingly break any one of God's 10 commandments we stand guilty before God of sin *1 JOHN 3:4; JAMES 2:10-11. If we sin willfully after we receive a "KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH" there remains no more sacrifice for sin but a fearful looking forward to of the judgment to come *HEBREWS 10:26-27.
But at the end of the day everything like the Sabbath are shadows of things to come
If that is true please answer this question. How can God's 4th commandment Sabbath be a shadow law when there was no sin and no law when the Sabbath was made for mankind *GENESIS 2:1-3; MARK 2:17? You are confused with the Mosaic shadow laws in ordinances made after the fall (sin) of mankind.
Now is it OK to switch on the lights on Sabbath nights?
There is no scripture about switching on a light or not switching on a light on the Sabbath. The sabbath is about resting and not doing your own work on the Sabbath.

May you receive Gods' Word and be blessed. Ignoring God's Word does not make it disappear.

Israelites lived in Israel
Israelites lived during Biblical times
You can think of being an Israelite [its all up there in the mind]
But there are genuine Israelites for example apostle Paul
who mentioned, wrote and spoke proudly that he is an Israelite

Romans 11:1
[ The Remnant of Israel ] I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.

You sir, could not make the same claim.
Nobody could today.
You can dream of being an Israelite
Dreams are free

Now the true Church who are true followers of Jesus are composed of

Acts 2:38-39 New International Version (NIV)
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

The Israelites whom apostle Peter replied - YOU
The Gentiles - and your children
The Church of Christ in these last days - and for all who are far off

It is true that the Bible mentions the seed of Abraham and not seeds
Seed and not Israelite
Please examine closely:

Galatians 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.

Now when the Bible says seed of Abraham
It does mean Israelite
Because Paul said this to the Galatians who are Gentiles
It includes them and how to be included as seed of Abraham?

Galatians 3:29 New International Version (NIV)

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Belonging to Christ makes one Abraham's seed
And how do one belong to Christ?

Romans 7:4 New International Version (NIV)
So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

and what is this body of Christ?

images

So you don't need to day dream to become an Israelite
But becoming part of the body of Christ is what saves one from damnation
Because Christ will save his own body His Church or the Church of Christ

If you are not a part of God's Israel you have no part in the new covenant *Hebrews 8:10-12.

Let us read Hebrews 8 in context
The maroon italicized words are my emphasis

Hebrews 8 New International Version (NIV)
Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.

Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.

For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.
What was wrong with the first covenant? It was Israelite's obedience which was defective.
But God found fault with the people and said:

“The days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
And when did this occur? From the Bible: Luke 22:20
Jesus introduced the new covenant of God with the people of Israel and Judah.

It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
The new covenant is different - totally different from the old covenant
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
Israel and the Israelites were not faithful to God's covenant
declares the Lord.
This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”

By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

giphy.gif

The Bible said what???

By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

We simply could not have 2 agreements operating.
The old covenant became obsolete, outdated and will soon disappear.

Now these things can be seen in your bible, my bible and everyone's bible
You quoted from this chapter.
I showed them in full.
Now if you want to become an Israelite of the old covenant
Go ahead, we are entitled to our own fun
That is freedom of religion, isn't it?

It is not surprising if you want to envision yourself as an Israelite
In my country they literally want to imitate Christ
Others want to be Roman soldiers, Israelites and Pharisees

Back to the OP...

Q. WHAT DAY IS THE "LORD'S DAY" ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE?

A.
MATTHEW 12:8 [8], For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Which day is the Lord's Day? THE SABBATH DAY (MATTHEW 12:8; MARK 2:27-28)

God's WORD says that the SABBATH DAY IS THE LORD'S DAY!

There is NO scripture that says Sunday or the FIRST DAY of the week is the Lords Day. God's Word says the Lord's day is the Sabbath day. This is the day God rested on, he set apart and made a Holy day at the completion of the creation week and made a memorial for all mankind (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus is the God of creation and he is the Lord of the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28)

Can you show from the scriptures alone that Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY" if not why not? If we cannot are we following man made teachings that break the commandments of God that JESUS warns us about in Matthew 15:3-9?

May God bless you all as you seek him through his Word.

As posted to you earlier through the scriptures JESUS did not fulfill God's law in order for us to break them. Salvation is from sin not to continue in sin *John 8:31-36. According to God's Word sin is the transgression of any one of God's 10 Commandments *James 2:10-11; 1 John 3:4. All those who willfully continue in known unrepentant sin when they have been given a knowledge of the truth will not enter into the kingdom of heaven because they reject the gift of God's dear son *Romans 6:23 and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing doing despite to the Spirit of Grace *Acts 17:30-31; Hebrews 10:26-39.

You do not know what laws changed brother in the new covenant do you. Your mixed up with the shadow laws from the Mosaic book of the old covenant for remission of sins (sin offerings, earthly Sanctuary ceremonial law in ordinances and the Levitical Priesthood) that changed in the new *Hebrews 7; Hebrews 8; Hebrews 9; Hebrews 10; Ephesians 2; Colossians 2 with God's eternal law (10 Commandments) that gives us a knowledge of GOOD AND EVIL; SIN AND RIGHTEOUSNESS *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Pslams 119:172.

Accoding to God's Word in the new covenant God's LAW gives us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20 and if we break and one of them we stand guilty before God of sin for sin is the transgression of God's Law *1 John 3:4. Sin is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil. By their fruits you shall know them.

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished as we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. This is a teaching and tradition of men that has led many to break the commandments of God *Matthew 15:3-9.

Who's side are you on? Who are God's people; those who believe and follow God's Word or those who reject God's Word in order to follow man made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God?

May you receive God's Word and be blessed. Ignoring it does not make it disappear.

God's Sheep hear his Voice (the Word) and follow him.

When Jesus Christ fulfilled the law. That brought that law to it's end..Why else are we not still to day sacrifices Lambs?

Because Jesus Christ fulfilled the Lamb offering..which brought that law to it's end..

The same with the seventh day Sabbath..Jesus Christ fulfilled the law of keeping the Seventh day Sabbath... therefore...we no longer rest on a day....We rest in Jesus Christ our rest.

Your contradicting yourself how can you keep the whole law when resting in Christ and break God's 4th commandment when if we break any one of God's 10 commandments we stand guilty before God of sin *James 2:10-11. Think it through what you have just posted makes no sense.

You don't break any of God's law...not when Jesus Christ fulfilled God's law. Of keeping the Seventh day Sabbath himself.

Therefore where people in the old testament/scriptures rested on the Seventh day Sabbath...that now we the New testament/scriptures rest in Jesus Christ and not on any day of the week no more...that's old testament/scriptures.

The new testament/scriptures..we rest in Jesus Christ..
the old testament/ scriptures rest on the seventh day Sabbath...
but the New testament/scriptures we rest in Jesus Christ.

Jesus' rest is freedom from "sin" (1 John 3:4), not transgression of God's Law.

Jesus is the Lord (present tense) of the Sabbath. Still is.

The Sabbath commandment encompasses the whole week, not just the 7th day in which we rest, trusting in God to provide all, but it also includes the 6 other days of our common labour, and it encompasses all of creation.

Salvation, is in Christ Jesus, and in Him is no "sin" (1 John 3:4), and anyone who says that they know Him, and keeps not the commandments, is a "liar" (1 John 2:4), and all "liars" (Revelation 21:8) shall have their part in the lake of fire, for they have chosen to be outside of Christ, choosing to remain in "sin" (1 John 3:4).

The Commandment is about the LORD and His rest, which is unchangeable.

The old testament/scriptures people were required to keep the seventh day Sabbath of rest...
The New testament/scriptures..we rest in Jesus Christ.
It seems you would rather put your faith in a day...Then put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ..why is that?

Your confused brother. The MOSAIC book of the shadow law for remission of sins that point to JESUS and God's plan of salvation in the new covenant is not God's eternal LAW (10 commandments) that give us the KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL; SIN AND RIGHTEOUSNESS in the new covenant *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Psalms 119:172. All those who continue in sin when they have been given a knowledge of the truth will not enter into God's KINGDOM because they reject the gift of God's dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing. If we sin (break anyone of God's 10 commandments - James 2:10-11) willfully after we have been given a knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sin but a fearful looking forward to of the judgment to come *Hebrews 10:26-39. Gods 4th commandment is one of Gods 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20 and if we break it just like any of Gods' 10 commandments we stand guilty before God of sin and those who practice sin do not know God *1 John 2:3-4. Sin (breaking any one of God's 10 commandments) is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 John 3:6-10. No one has God's Spirit or do they rest in Christ while knowingly breaking any one of God's 10 commandments *Acts 5:29-32; Romans 8:13; Hebrews 10:26-39; Matthew 7:22-27.

These are your words brother. They are not God's Word. God's Word disagrees with your words that are not God's Word. I suggest you read *1 John 3:3-10; 1 John 2:3-4; Matthew 7:22-27; Hebrews 10:26-39; Romans 8:13 and Hebrews 6:4-8. No one has God's Spirit or do they rest in Christ while knowingly breaking God's commandments and practice unrepentant sin and neither do they know him.

The old testament/scriptures people were required to keep the seventh day Sabbath of rest...
The New testament/scriptures..we rest in Jesus Christ.
It seems you would rather put your faith in a day...Then put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ..why is that?

According to God's Word no one rests is Christ by breaking God's commandments (sin) and not believe and follow God's Word *HEBREWS 3; HEBREWS 4. All those who continue in known unrepentant sin will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN because they reject the gift of God's dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-39. Sin is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 JOHN 3:6-10. According to God's Word (not mine) Sin is the breaking of any one of God's 10 commandments *JAMES 2:10-11; 1 JOHN 3:4; ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7 and if we break any one of them we stand guilty before God of sin *ROMANS 3:19-20. God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is. There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says God's 4th commandment has now been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. This is a man made teaching and tradition that has led many to break God's commandments that JESUS warns us about in MATTHEW 15:1-9. The hour is coming and now is that the true worshippers will worship God in Spirit and in truth. God is calling his people out wherever they may be to return to the pure Word of God. God is a Spirit and those who worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth. I put my faith in God's Word alone and so should you.

You do not know what the old covenant is do you or what the new covenant is that the old pointed to.

HEBREWS 8:10-12 [10], For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, said the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.....

Now who is the new covenant with?

According to God's Word (not my words), Gods' ISRAEL in the new covenant are all those who believe and follow God's Word. Gentiles are now grafted in *Romans 11:13-27. If you are not a part of God's Israel you have no part in the new covenant promise *Hebrews 8:10-12.

More scriptures provided here....

God's Israel in the new testament who is it ?

May you receive God's Word and be blessed.

Ignoring God's Word does not make it disappear.

According to God's word..
In the old testament scriptures, Israel rested on the seventh day Sabbath..

According to God's word..in the new testament scriptures Christians rest in Jesus Christ..
This is why Jesus Christ said in
Matthew 11:28---"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"

There you have Jesus Christ himself saying to come into him and he will give you rest..
Jesus Christ said nothing about giving you seventh day Sabbath rest..
But he will give you rest himself.
