Luke 8:49-56 says the girl was only asleep. And in Thessalonians 4:14 and Thessalonians 4:16 it says jesus brings back the people who have fallen asleep with him.And the dead rise first.I never got how this works.

Because in Psalms 146:4 it sounds the other way around. And because I am a jw.I belive i am just interpreting it wrong.

Also in 2 Cor.5:6-9 it sounds like some people want to be absent from the body and some people already are. That confuses me even more.

It’s nice that you want to learn, Frank. But agreeing with JW's does not make you one. We aren't like a church where you just rock up and become a member by sitting in a pew. Having a Bible Study will help you to answer all your questions. It will also help you to decide if you really want to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
It's like becoming a doctor or a lawyer....sitting in a hospital listening to doctors will not make you a doctor. Same with sitting in a courtroom won't make you a lawyer. To become a Christian, you need knowledge of all the things Christ taught and then you must become a "footstep follower" of Christ, imitating his qualities and his actions....being obedient to God in all things. Not that we can be perfect, but trying our best in our own circumstances is pleasing to God.

When Jesus raised the dead in the first century, he raised them back to this life...returning them to their families. It was a demonstration of what was to come under the rulership of his Kingdom. It didn't last because it was only temporary. The healing of the sick and the raising of the dead were gifts of God's spirit that died with the apostles. These were a foregleam of things to come. Soon these things will be seen on a grand scale.

Remember that the "first resurrection" was not to take place until Christ's return. We believe that he was enthroned as King in 1914, (Daniel 7:13-14) which is when the "last days" of the present system of things began. All the signs of Jesus' "presence" were to be in evidence in this time period. (Matthew 24:3-14) And all of this is to take place before the greatest tribulation in mankind's history is unleashed. (Matthew 24:21) We may be among the survivors....or we may have to wait for a resurrection.....either way we get to paradise.

Christ's return is seen in two separate events.....one is his "presence" (parousia) when he returns in spirit to guide his disciples through a very critical period in history, marked by catastrophic events, never seen on a world wide scale before....and also to guide and direct the greatest preaching campaign since the flood of Noah's day. (Matthew 24:37-39; 2 Timothy 3:1-5)

At the end, when Jesus manifests himself as judge of all the world however, most of the heavenly rulers will already have been raised to spirit life in heaven. The "first resurrection" takes place in these last days. It culminates with Jesus acting as judge of all the world and all of his anointed ones will be with him when he comes with his angelic forces. The sheep and goats will be separated and rewards and punishments administered.

Because in Psalms 146:4 it sounds the other way around. And because I am a jw.I belive i am just interpreting it wrong.

Psalm 146:4...
"His spirit [breath] goes out, he returns to the ground;
On that very day his thoughts perish."

The spirit that goes out of a dying person is their breath. They stop breathing and that is when their life ceases. They can no longer think or feel anything.

Also in 2 Cor.5:6-9 it sounds like some people want to be absent from the body and some people already are. That confuses me even more.

This pertains only to Christ's anointed ones.....those who are chosen by God to rule with Jesus in heaven. They have a desire implanted in their hearts to discard their physical bodies in order to be given a spirit body, like Jesus did when he was raised from the dead. Their desire to go to heaven overrides every earthly attachment they have.

I'm not JW but I believe if there's a kingdom Hall near you, and you haven't been approached yet by door to door missionaries, you could contact the KH and request a visit. I'm sure they'd be happy to come out to do a Bible study with you.

(Sorry we missed this, Frank)

Do you know by now? Go to your local Kingdom Hall.

How come you rarely respond? You know, dialogue / communication is between two people, not just one asking questions.

I’m beginning to doubt your sincerity. I hope I’m wrong.
