Jesus Christ was a Jew, He kept the law perfectly for all, including the Jews, and including those parts that applied to the Gentiles. So now we all can have his substitutionary perfection applied to us, we are positionally justified as perfect before God.

Jesus did not keep God's Law in order for us to break God's LAW. Anyone who breaks anyone of God's 10 commandments stand guilty before God of sin. *James 2:10-11. All those who continue in known unrepentant sin after they have been given a knowledge of the truth will not enter into God's Kingdom because they reject the gift of God's dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing and do despite to the Spirit of grace *Romans 6:23; Hebrews 10:26-39.

Nine of the original ten commands are clearly and directly enunciated in the NT,some are modified, like Christ's changing the law on adultery. However, there is one notable for it's absence, there is no command in the NT to keep the sabbath.

According to God's Word (not mine) in the new covenant God's LAW (10 commandments) has the same role it always had and that is to give us the KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL; SIN AND RIGHTEOUSNESS *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Psalms 119:172 and if we break any one of them we stand guilty before God of sin *James 2:10-11. God's 4th commandment is one of Gods 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is and if we knowingly break it we stand guilty before God of sin.

Every one of Gods 10 commandments are re-iterated individually and collectively all through the new covenant
....

GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT REITERATED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT:

1, "For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day." (Matthew 12:8; Luke 6:5) [So the Sabbath is the TRUE Lord's Day]

2, It is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. (Matthew 12:12)

3, But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day. (Matthew 24:20)

4, they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he (Jesus) entered into the synagogue, and taught. (Mark 1:21)

5, And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (Mark 2:27-28) [Notice: The Sabbath is NOT just for Jews, or Israelites, or Hebrews, or Semites (descendants of Shem), but FOR ALL MANKIND]

6, And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach (Mark 6:2)

7, And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day (Luke 4:16)

8, (Jesus) taught them on the sabbath days. (Luke 4:31)

AFTER JESUS' DEATH, HIS DISCIPLES OBSERVED THE SABBATH:

9, And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment." (Luke 23:55-56) [ This occured after Jesus' death obviously, which is when the false teachers claim the law was done away. They say the law was "nailed to the cross", but His disciples obviously didn't believe that, as we see here, they "rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment"]

10, when they (the apostles) departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day." (Acts 13:14)

11, And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath." (Acts 13:42) [Notice: the Gentiles (non-jews) wanted to hear the word of God on the next Sabbath. Paul DID NOT tell them, "Come back tomorrow, the first day of the week, because that's the day us Christians keep." He had them return the following SABBATH]

12, And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. (Acts 13:44)

13, For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. (Acts 15:21)

14, And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made. (Acts 16:13)

15, And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures. (Acts 17:2)

16, And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. (Acts 18:4)

17, For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. (Hebrews 4:4) [See Ephesians 5:1 where it states that we are to be imitators of God.]

For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." (Isaiah 66:22-23) [I realize this is an OT scripture, BUT as you can clearly see here, this is dealing with the NEW heavens and earth (after Christ's return) and it states that ALL shall keep the Sabbath then.

We might save the best one till last. Are you ready? Wait for it...

18, THEREFORE IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH." (Hebrews 4:9)

Sorry brother God's Word disagrees with you.

If, it is the most important commandment, that upon at the end salvation will hang, don't you think the resurrected Christ or the Apostles would say so ? You must keep the sabbath, five words in any letters of the NT, in any words of the resurrected Christ would do. They do not exist.

According to God's WORD all those who practice known unrepentant sin breaking any one of God's 10 commandments will not enter into the kingdom of heaven because they reject the gift of God's dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing *Hebrews 10;26-39; Romans 6:23.

God's 4th commandment Sabbath is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 6:23 and if er break it just like any one of God's 10 commandments we stand guilty before God of sin *James 2:10-11.

JESUS says think not that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets. He did not come to destroy but to fulfill *MATTHEW 5:17-19. That the righteousness might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit *Romans 8:1-4. If you continue in the flesh breaking God's LAW you will die *Romans 8:13.

Salvation is from sin not to continue in sin *John 8:31-36. If you continue in sin you will die *Romans 6:16; Romans 8:13; Ezekiel 18:4. Sin (breaking God's LAW) is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 JOHN 3:6-10.

May you receive God's Word and be blessed.

These are your words above than we have God's Word and the very words of JESUS that says that the Sabbath was made for all mankind in *MARK 2:27. There was no JEWS and no Sin when Gods Sabbath was created *Genesis 2:1-3 and according to JESUS the Sabbath was made for all mankind *Mark 2:27. So the application to the Jews only is a false one.

God's 4th commandment says..

EXODUS 20:8-11 [8], REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY [Made Holy at creation GENESIS 2:3]. [9], Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: [10], But THE SEVENTH DAY [ Genesis 2:1-3] IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD YOUR GOD : in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, NOR THE FOREIGNER THAT IS WITHIN YOUR GATES: [WHY?] [11], FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM IS, AND RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY; WHEREFORE THE LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH DAY AND MADE IT HOLY. [Refering to GENESIS 2:1-3]

The Hebrew word used here is גּר גּיר; gêr gêyr From H1481; properly a guest ; by implication a foreigner: - alien, sojourner, stranger.

In the new covenant there are no more Jew and gentiles believers. All are one in Christ and gentiles believers are now grafted in to Gods Israel who are all those who believe and follow Gods Word. If you are not a part of God's Israel than you have no part in the new covenant promise *Hebrews 8:10-12

Hope this helps

How is one told to keep the sabbath ? In the OT it was a rest day. No one was supposed to do anything but stay at home and rest. One was not to go to the synagogue for worship, or go to a restaurant after services like many of my Adventist friends do. As an Adventist, my sabbaths were very busy.
Not really brother. God's 4th commandment does not say you cannot go to Church on the Sabbath. Neither does God's 4th commandment tell you to stay home on the Sabbath. Your claim here and statement is not biblical. It says not to do any of your own work on the Sabbath *Exodus 20:8-11. No buying and selling etc. Your adventist friends were breaking God's 4th commandment if they were going to restaurants on the Sabbath.
Now to Sunday. The Gentile Christians kept the first day of the week, NOT because it was some kind of pagan holiday, but t was the day that The Lord was resurrected, thus the term The Lords Day. No matter, the Gentiles kept it in honor of the resurrection.
According to God's WORD there is no scripture that says "THE LORDS DAY" is Sunday! This is a teaching and tradition of men that is not biblical that has led many to break God's 4th commandment that JESUS warns us about in *MATTHEW 15:3-9. God's people all through time to JESUS and the Apostles * Matthew 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4 all through time to this very present day have always kept God's 4th commandment according to God's Word.

Sorry brother not according to scripture..

In revelation, when John says he had a vision on The Lords day, he meant sunday, The term was in common use in Gentile Churches and he knew what it meant. Of the seven times contact with the risen Lord by people was recorded, the day of the week for two is not recorded, the others were on sunday.
Prove that Revelation 1:10 is talking about Sunday through the scriptures. All your doing here brother is making claims that many do that are simply not biblical. Where is the scripture that says "SUNDAY" or the first day of the week is "THE LORDS DAY" if you cannot who are you following God's Word or the teachings and traditions of men that have led many to break the commandments of God *Matthew 15:3-9.
Christ interacted with two Roman Centurions, Gentiles, He called them men of great faith. Of one He said there was no greater faith in all of Israel, yet neither could keep the sabbath. Their work week was 7 days per week, if there was a specific need, they worked weeks and weeks and weeks strait through. In the Roman army, go disobey an order meant immediate death. There was no exception. Do we hear that they were executed ? No. Did Christ tell them they had to keep the sabbath ? No.
JESUS called the Centurion a men of great faith because when JESUS said he would come to heal the sick the Centurion said Lord do not come I am a man having many under me saying to this servent come and he comes and to that one do this and he does it, but "SPEAK THE WORD ONLY" and it shall be done as you have commanded it. This is what the Centurion said that JESUS was referring to. Those who have great faith according to God's Word BELIEVE AND FOLLOW the Word of God only. This is in contrast to those who follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God. God's LAW (10 commandments) are God's Word. Those who break them deny faith and the very Christ who died to save them.

So, under the law of Christ as laid down in the NT there is no commandment to keep any day. Paul makes it abundantly clear, " One man esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Let every man be convinced in his own mind."
These are your words brother not God's. It is God's Word not mine that says...

Matthew 5:17-20 [17], Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. [18], For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one stroke or one pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [19], Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [20], For I say to you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Romans 3:31 [31], Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yes, we establish the law.

Romans 8:1-4 [1], There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2], For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. [3], For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: [4], That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Now it is very clear from God's Word that JESUS did not come to destroy the law. No mention of the Sabbath being detroyed and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day in any of God's Word. Paul says we are to establish the law through faith and that the righteousness of the law is to be fulfilled in us as we walk in God's Spirit.

Then we have JESUS prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem to his disciples well after his death and resurrection...

Matthew 24:20-23 [20], But pray you that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: [21], For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [22], And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. [23], Then if any man shall say to you, See, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

Yep seems that according to JESUS God's 4th commandment Sabbath was still to be kept well after the reurrection of JESUS into the future.

All the dsiciples kept God's 4th Commandment after the resurrection of JESUS as shown all through the book of Acts *Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; and Revelation 1:10 -Matthew 12:8.

God's people have kept the Sabbath unbroken all through time even after the Apostles to this very present day. Let me know if you would like the historical references.

Sorry brother it is clear God's Word disagrees with you. Then we have.... wait for it again...

HEBREWS 4:9 THEREFORE IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH

God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us a knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20 and just like every other one of God's 10 Commandments if we brake it when we have been given a knowledge of the truth there remains no more sacrifice for sin but a fearful looking forward to of the judgment to come *ACTS 17:30-31; HEBREWS 10:26-27.
If the sabbath were of such great importance, then or now, don't you think the NT writers would have told us ?
See all the scriptures provided above.

Baring the Cross
We ought to obey God rather than man *ACTS 5:29.
These men kept Sunday as the Sabbath.
Why did they do this?
No they did not. Not a single verse in scripture for that statement you made.

Pentecost, Jews, were to repent:

Act 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

Gentiles were to repent:

Act 14:15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
Act 14:16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.

Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Quoting directly from the 4th Commandment, in regards the 7th day:

Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Thus in fulfillment of Isaiah:

Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
Isa 56:8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
Jesus referred to Isaiah 56:8, here;

Joh 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Thus:

Act_13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
Act_13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Even in the Jerusalem council this is re-iterated:

Act 15:15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
Act 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
Act 15:17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
Act 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
Act 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

Act_15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

Nope your mixing up "THE DAY OF THE LORD" with "THE LORDS DAY" as in the LORDS ownership of the day.

Did it say THE LORD'S DAYS?
It didn't
It said the LORD'S DAY
It pertain to one day.

upload_2019-11-18_16-46-34.jpeg

Especially when adding an extra S when the word is very singular.
And you read it from the Book of Revelations.
Who is God going to send plagues then?

There is no difference between God's word and Word of God.
That is very basic.
Hence there is no difference in the Lord's Day and Day of the Lord
You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that.

No they did not. Not a single verse in scripture for that statement you made.

Jesus appeared at least three times to His church.
Each time he found them gathered on the Sunday.
The historians of the First Century noted that Sunday
was the Christian Sabbath.
Why was Sunday the "Lord's Day"? Because it is the
day Jesus was resurrected.

Your confused. One as the context in the post you are quoting from shows in "THE LORDS DAY" that it is in reference to the Lord's ownership of the day *Revelation 1:10; that the Word of God defines as the Sabbath day *Matthew 12:8 and the other from other scriptures from the Old Testament "THE DAY OF THE LORD" is in reference to the second coming.

Matthew 12:8 again?

Matthew 12:8 New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)

For the Son of Man is Lord of the sabbath.”

Where is the Lord's day here?
Or are you implying that the Son of Man is Lord for that particular day?
And the rest of the days, from Sunday to Friday, the Son of Man does not own these days?

And Sunday belongs to the devil because of Sol Invictus?
Because of the root word Sun in Sunday!

And Monday belongs to the devil also because that is Moon worship - Aphrodite
Because it came from Old English Mōnandæg ‘day of the moon’, translation of late Latin lunae dies ; compare with Dutch maandag and German Montag .

And Tuesday belongs to the devil because that is Mars worship
Because it came from Old English Tīwesdæg ‘day of Tīw’, a Germanic god of war and the sky; translation of Latin dies Marti ‘day of Mars’, the god Tīw being equated with the Roman god Mars. Compare with Swedish tisdag

And Wednesday belongs to the devil because that is Mercury/Odin worship
Because it came from Old English Wōdnesdæg ‘day of Odin’, named after the Germanic god Odin or Woden, the supreme god; translation of late Latin Mercurii dies, Odin being equated with the Roman god Mercury. Compare with Dutch woensdag .

And Thursday too belongs to the devil because it is Thor worship
Because it came from the Old English Thu(n)resdæg ‘day of thunder’, named after Thunor or Thor, the Germanic god of thunder; translation of late Latin Jovis dies ‘day of Jupiter’, Thor being equated with the Roman god Jupiter. Compare with Dutch donderdag and German Donnerstag .

And Friday belongs to the devil because it is Frigga/Venus worship
Because it came from the Old English Frīgedæg ‘day of Frigga’, named after the Germanic goddess Frigga, wife of the supreme god Odin and goddess of married love; translation of late Latin Veneris dies ‘day of Venus’, Frigga being equated with the Roman goddess of love, Venus. Compare with Dutch vrijdag and German Freitag .

Because the pagan Emperor Constantine set the rest day to Sunday - people should not worship God on Sunday because it is pagan.

Sunday was another work day in the Roman Empire. On March 7, 321, however, Roman Emperor Constantine I issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest from labor, stating: All judges and city people and the craftsmen shall rest upon the venerable day of the sun.

How was Saturday named?
I think Saturday is also compromised because Saturday came from the Old English Sætern(es)dæg, translation of Latin Saturni dies ‘day of Saturn’, the ancient Roman god of agriculture. Compare with Dutch zaterdag .

Well it seems we don't have a non pagan named day, do we?

So what does the bible TRULY SAY?

Romans 14:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord.

To you it is 6:00 pm of Friday to 6:00 pm of Saturday - That's you - One person considers one day more sacred than another

To me it is

another considers every day alike

Your special day is as good as mine.

Good question. Let's revisit it....

Q. WHAT DAY IS THE "LORD'S DAY" ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE?

MATTHEW 12:8 [8], For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Which day is the Lord's Day? THE SABBATH DAY (MATTHEW 12:8; MARK 2:27-28)

God's WORD says that the SABBATH DAY IS THE LORD'S DAY!

There is NO scripture that says Sunday or the FIRST DAY of the week is the Lords Day. God's Word says the Lord's day is the Sabbath day. This is the day God rested on, he set apart and made a Holy day at the completion of the creation week and made a memorial for all mankind (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus is the God of creation and he is the Lord of the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28)

Can you show from the scriptures alone that Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY" if not why not? If we cannot are we following man made teachings that break the commandments of God that JESUS warns us about in Matthew 15:3-9?
Or are you implying that the Son of Man is Lord for that particular day? And the rest of the days, from Sunday to Friday, the Son of Man does not own these days?
There you go you getting it. JESUS is LORD of the SABBATH day
MATTHEW 12:8 [8], For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
And Sunday belongs to the devil because of Sol Invictus? Because of the root word Sun in Sunday!
There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says God's 4th commandment is now abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. This is a man made teaching and tradition that has led many to break God's 4th commandment. JESUS warns us about this in MATTHEW 15:3-9. Who do you believe and follow; God's Word of the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God? It seems you choose to obey the latter.

YawnZZzzz. Did you have any scriptures to share in relation to the OP proving that Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY" if not why do you follow it?
Romans 14:5-6 New International Version (NIV) One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord.
Your confused Romans 14 has nothing to do with the Sabbath

The scriptures are talking about food connected to days (eating and not eating (fasting) on days men esteem over other days. Not what days God esteems and judging others.

The things that men esteem are an abomination in God's eyes.

LUKE 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God

There is no mention in all of ROMANS 14 of God's 4th commandment or any of God's 10 commandments. Your reading into the scriptures something it is not talking about.

May you receive God's Word and be blessed, Ignoring it does not make it disappear.

If that were true you would have scripture. Fact is brother you do not.

It's true and I have history.
We don't live under the law in the New Testament.
And as Jesus Himself put it - living by the Ten
Commandments, of itself, will not save you. Those
of the New Covenant had to go beyond the Law
and Commandments.
