Was Jesus Gay?

"The phrase "the disciple whom Jesus loved" (Greek: ὁ μαθητὴς ὃν ἠγάπα ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ho mathētēs hon ēgapā ho Iēsous) or, in John 20:2, the disciple beloved of Jesus (Greek: ὃν ἐφίλει ὁ Ἰησοῦς, hon ephilei ho Iēsous) is used six times in the Gospel of John,[1] but in no other New Testament accounts of Jesus."

So perhaps @THE Art Vandelay has a point. Jesus may not have been gay. The author of John sounds like he had a major jonesing for Jesus.

And any competent psychologist will agree that it is only choice, nothing more. Just because it's your choice, doesn't mean it isn't choice for others too.
From the APA. the American Psychological Association.

What causes a person to have a particular sexual orientation?

There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation.
Do you remember choosing to be heterosexual?

Is homosexuality a mental disorder?

No, lesbian, gay and bisexual orientations are not disorders. Research has found no inherent association between any of these sexual orientations and psychopathology. Both heterosexual behavior and homosexual behavior are normal aspects of human sexuality. Both have been documented in many different cultures and historical eras. Despite the persistence of stereotypes that portray lesbian, gay and bisexual people as disturbed, several decades of research and clinical experience have led all mainstream medical and mental health organizations in this country to conclude that these orientations represent normal forms of human experience. Lesbian, gay and bisexual relationships are normal forms of human bonding. Therefore, these mainstream organizations long ago abandoned classifications of homosexuality as a mental disorder.

What about therapy intended to change sexual orientation from gay to straight?

All major national mental health organizations have officially expressed concerns about therapies promoted to modify sexual orientation. To date, there has been no scientifically adequate research to show that therapy aimed at changing sexual orientation (sometimes called reparative or conversion therapy) is safe or effective. Furthermore, it seems likely that the promotion of change therapies reinforces stereotypes and contributes to a negative climate for lesbian, gay and bisexual persons. This appears to be especially likely for lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals who grow up in more conservative religious settings.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean Jesus's particular love for one of his disciples is untrue, and that Jesus couldn't have been gay.

.

Yes, I need to make my point better. It is fairly obvious that the author of John was gay. That does not necessarily mean that Jesus was gay himself. To make that claim another source would be nice besides just the musings of the person infatuated with him.

In your totally uneducated opinion. Its pretty obvious you haven't looked deeply into this, yet you confuse your opinion with God's.

In your completely uneducated - and worthless - opinion. It's obvious you've never looked into this at all, not deeply nor any kind of surface look. I certainly don't confuse your opinion with Satan's.....they're one and the same.

Likewise, the same applies to you.
I'm not the one spitting on your beliefs and presuming to tell you who you worship. You said I worship Satan, which you have no right to say and is very rude and offensive. Who the hell do you think you are? You're certainly not God and you should know what Christ said about judging. You don't know my relationship with God, so keep your mouth shut about it.

Your own words which run contrary to the teaching of the Bible show your stand to be in opposition to God. Who else stands in clear opposition to God? Satan. It isn't really much of a leap to connect what you've been saying to the kinds of immoral and unscriptural thoughts promoted by Satan. So who do you think you are? Just keep your mouth shut in general already.

Find me a righteous person in the bible who isn't accused of the same thing in the same bible. It may take you a few minutes.

ROFL. Your opinion on the matter doesn't supercede God's, and neither does the APA's.

But you're the one who brought up psychiatry: "any competent psychologist will agree that it is only choice, nothing morey. ." and now you're running away from it. Gee, I wonder why.

And now you're claiming that god's opinion is that sexual orientation is a choice, for which I'm sure you have chapter and verse. We await, o' chosen heterosexual. Lay it on us.

Good, so we've established now that you can't read. I'm NOT the one who brought up psychiatry. I responded to someone else who brought it up. Weak try on your part.
