Benefits of a good vocabulary. :)

I recently called an old engineer friend of mine and asked him what he was up to now days.

He replied with that he was working on aqua-thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminum and steel under a constrained environment.

I was impressed until I learned he meant he was washing dishes with hot water under his wife's supervision.

Why do folks wait until 4:30 on a Friday to call with serious issues that they knew about all day

In my short tenure as a Federal government employee, I chanced to see a document rubber stamped with text that read "effectuate the necessary action".

I fixed two terrible problems today for friends. One person was afraid that a new computer had to be bought. The problem was an accidental clicking of 'tablet mode'. The other thought the sound was broken. The problem was setting the output away from speakers/headphones.

I'm a miracle worker, I am.

So there was a pretty good forum I used to go to, now inactive but still up, that was known as both bleeding edge back when, and as having more Democrats than Republicans. I was looking through threads from 10 years ago, and some of the subject matters do suggest actual citizens have gotten more in tune with change than they used to be. One of the subject matters from 10 years ago was whether people thought that people should "stop paying their taxes" if the government supports abortion.

You should definitely go eat Mr. Weenies or Voodoo House for me (down Broadway, kind of just into what passes for downtown there) (Voodoo House might be more to your liking), and then go the other way on broadway, towards the highway that takes you to 31, and tell my former employer next to the medical office that they are terrible ****ing people, I really did make it here, and I hope they all choke to death on a whale dick. And then go hike Oikie Panokie. Apparently, from what I hear, there really has been murder there now. I'll have to double check, but I saw it on a couple websites.
And then go eat pizza King because they're really good. And then go give my mom and brother a hug for me and tell them I love them and miss them, and make sure you're wearing your best steel toe boots to nut-punt-kick my dad. And my sisters husband because nobody likes him, and you'll want to do it yourself anyways if you'd be unfortunate enough to meet him.
I finally got home about 10:40.
Spent much time helping other buyers secure their treasures to their trailers.
No time to sample the local pleasures....wanted to get home
