You have yet to show that Bernie did this. As a result it looks like you are the Biblically illiterate one. You see there is this Commandment about bearing false witness against your neighbor.Of course it is.
You can look at the chapter in John 3
Exactly what Bernie Sanders was attacking was Jesus discussion
of what he meant when he said John 3:16 and in partitcular John 3:18
In the end it suggests Bernie is Biblically illiterate BUT willing to pontificate... which is a really bad combination.

Please quote and link where Bernie every attacked that verse.
And you prove yourself wrong. The line of questioning was about an action, not a belief. And of course this is why you did not quote him. You could not find any attacks. His line of questioning regarding Vought was exactly on the content of that verse and Jesus explanation concerning it.
The irony is this post is staggering. Is this par for the course for the 'new democrats' to make litmus tests for believing basic things Christians believed for thousands of years or is Bernie on his own in promoting anything that opposes his postmodern world views?
Does it even belong in politics?
Surely, you are not of the opinion that Christians in politics are tolerant?Bernie Sanders Grills Budget Nominee Russell Vought On Anti-Mu...
Bernie Sanders sounds pretty intolerant of people with Biblical Christian views, he would claim otherwise but he'd be mistaken.

Except that he explicitly denies that. I don't know what you're hearing, but he said nothing that implies that a religion or sect should conform their beliefs to his ideas. Rather, he called out a political leader on his conduct towards a religion.Sanders is doing nothing more than demanding a religion, or sect, conform their views to his own ideas.
Except that he explicitly denies that.
it is so much easier to attack Sanders for what he didn't do. I think that many of the Christians that attack him can see that the job candidate was being a jerk to a non-Christian. Perhaps they would like to be similar jerks and need an example to use to say that it is acceptable behavior.Except that he explicitly denies that.
Not being a jerk (I would use a stronger term but the auto censor would not like it) is a religious test? Can you be specific what religious test he applied? He can deny it all he wants. It was a religious test.
I don't know what that means. He can deny it all he wants. It was a religious test.
His only intolerance on display in all the videos posted is for political leaders who disrespect freedom of religion. A political leader has to be above such opinions.Bernie Sanders sounds pretty intolerant of people with Biblical Christian views, he would claim otherwise but he'd be mistaken.
Yes, personal views, as opposed to professional views. When the profession is about freedom of religion and separation of Church and State, as lawmakers' and politicians' (state) jobs are, then so are the professional views.Personal views only? not exactly. But yes, those were the personal views of all Christians for several thousand years and now?
I don't know what that means.
It's absolutely necessary, when you work in government, to recognize that you wear two hats--a private and a public one--and you can't wear them both at the same time.I have long believed that people seeking a job as a public representative should be willing and able to set their position as "religious representative" aside while serving in that capacity. As one cannot serve two masters if those masters have opposing agendas. As such I have no problem with Sanders or anyone else attempting to determine if someone they are appointing to a representational position in public office is willing and able to do this.
No, he used their professional view, which sadly was their personal view.He used a person's religious views to disqualify (a No vote) them from holding office which is unconstitutional.

Nope, that was not why he voted to disqualify him. This has been explained rather thoroughly in this thread. He used a person's religious views to disqualify (a No vote) them from holding office which is unconstitutional.
