Are heaven and Hell spatial and temporal things, or are they spiritual states of mind?

Since you asked, in my opinion they are both imagined ideas having no external reality in the real world. In other words: there is no such thing as heaven and hell.

They are not even spiritual states of mind. I might consider goodness or love or beauty as a spiritual state of mind, but these don't compare with the imagined ideas of heaven and hell.

i think heaven is like a different dimension, but the place in heaven is defined by state of mind. i think it is temporal within heaven.

You missed a third option, are they imagination?
imagination is a state of mind.

imagination
the faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses.

the ability of the mind to be creative or resourceful.

the part of the mind that imagines things.

it is also the problem solving portion of your thoughts

without imagination....there no problems you can solve

not necessarily a bad thing when solving a problem. not necessarily a good thing when ignoring reality.

neither good/bad but how it's used. the form counts for nothing the action is everything.

what?.....you're imagination has a limit?

seems to contained.....by some limit

Less of a limit than reality

And it is said by some that the process of imagination has no limit.

But how did this resolve the question of a third option?

as long as you are able to 'see' your thoughts
you are alive

here in this world we imagine a great many things
but need words to share the ideas

in the next life.....thoughts and feelings are direct
and they have to be

God and heaven will be able to 'see' how you think
how you feel

They will be able to 'see' your dreams

And once again you go round in circles without answering the question.

I recall.....some scripture quote

Someone said …..There are many mansions in my Father's House

sounds odd
as if the nouns are misused

Hard to figure out that one....one can't believe all kings,
or their books.
How big is heaven anyway ? How do they keep all that up there ?
How large is a brick, how much does it weigh, ahhh bricks of clouds !
