Do I have to be a religious nut to post on RF?

What are your favorite subjects to discuss?

It is generally accepted that those who wish to register on this religious forum, do so in order to talk to others about religion.

But you don't have to be, (AS YOU SAY) a religious nut to register on a religious Forum,
you can be a biblical ignorant atheist, who simply wants to disrupt the conversations of the religious people, or try to convert a believer over to their godless and hopeless way of life.
"you can be a biblical ignorant atheist, who simply wants to disrupt the conversations of the religious people, or try to convert a believer over to their godless and hopeless way of life"

Another aspect is that the Religions get criticized or get pointed out their mythical or superstitious parts if any, and improve themselves. The same is true about the No-Religions also . Right, please?

The above shows one's keen interest. Right, please?

I've been discussing religion on forums for over 10 years. I'm Catholic. It's gotten old.

...I need relief, so I'm asking people to please talk about other things too, besides religion. That's all. The sub-forums are here for that purpose, lets engage and use them as a religious community with non-religious friends among us.

I love atheists. My favorite poster here, the old bacon eater is one, but to go to an atheist dominated forum, I would be eaten alive for being a Catholic. Don't you think so?

My bet is that if you don't bring it up, neither will they. Of course, if you discuss something and you disagree with them *because* your position is the Catholic one, then that may be a different thing.

But, for example, if you are talking about the properties of water bears and never bring up religion, I would bet the atheists won't either. If, however, you go on about how wonderfully created they are and how wise God must be, then they will challenge you on such.

I notice this place is called "Religious Forums", so what does that mean? Are we expected to be curious about other religions, and ask them questions and compare beliefs? What's the use in that? If you want to learn about a religion, why not read a book? I don't get it.

So what is the purpose of this forum?

For me, it is not to talk about religion, but rather talk about all things, with other religious peoples.

In your opinion, what is the main purpose of this forum?
What sort of things do you like to talk about? Because personally, I'm sick of talking about religion, and it seems like that's all anyone wants to do, or thinks they're supposed to do.
To attract religious people, in order to beat the ancient [g]God out of them, and inject them with the scientific religious belief, and its god. :D
I honestly can't say I know... for sure. ;)

I'm afraid that in an atheist dominated forum, I wont be taken seriously.
This atheist doesn't care what your religious beliefs are.
Moreover, I'm not aware of them....although the above
poste sheds some light.

I think staff should be seen as not a problem, but rather
a different demographic. They & we have different views
of how things work, ie, we don't see the inner workings,
while they are the inner workings.
It's a different perspective...they're neither worse nor better.

@Landon Caeli if you are looking for a forum with only religious people, of various faiths, that discuss other things, like music, movies, sports, politics..., I know of one. PM me, if that's what you are looking for.

So you don't like talking about waterbears for instance?

Just because we are religious people, doesn't mean we can't talk about non-religious stuff, IMO. I wish more people would see it that way... That this is a forum that welcomes religious people to carry conversations of every nature... And is even tolerant of atheists.

...That's how it was when I signed up, or at least how I viewed it.
I can talk about science from a religious point of view. But just science as science is boring.

Or you can be a biblically astute atheist who simply likes to discuss things, religious or not.

Quite possible. There are rabid people anywhere you go -- especially on the web.

I don't spend time on any atheist forum myself. Agreement is the antithesis of conversation -- you don't learn anything new talking to people who already agree with you.

This is why I like the fact that this forum has a wide variety of people, including atheists, who are generally not rabid.

I think I’ve already heard every position regarding religion though, or anti-religion that there is, multiple times, in my 10+ years of posting on forums such as this.

Just wait until next month, and we’ll get to hear how Christmas is pagan again. And how Roman Catholicism ruined it, etc... Again.

...Round 25,319.

And then there’s the Baha’i, who claim to offer something new, but it’s just a continuation. And the atheists want to talk about the giant spaghetti monster, for their fresh take. Ya-da, ya-da. Over and over.

The Pagan Christmas one has already started
