The movie Ragamuffin is supposedly correct on some of his life and things he said in his concert. So he said in one concert,if your coming down here for support or for people to love and support you this is the wrong place. I am just entertainer, you come to a concert for entertainment that's it, go to church for support thats where you find people who love you.

I wonder how many Christians go with that idea.

He also would not accept a ton of money to get rich he just allowed the record producers to pay him regular salary to live on. He gave the rest to charity.

Even though I know he was an alcoholic and not a good example in some ways, his ideas about Christian music was good, he claimed he was not a Christian performer, Would not use that term, he was just a performer.

He was raised Quaker but became Roman Catholic before he died and even though many of his ideas were Catholic some were Quaker I am sure.
I am just still wondering how many Christian artists use these standards and how many are just in it to get rich?

I am not a theist, but when Rich Mullins debuted, I was (and was heavy into alternative christian music). While I disagree with his religious ideas, I find Mullins to be a decent human being and talented musician. I have no desire to see his movie, though ....

Yes he was an alcoholic trying to get help at AA. He also did service work for the Native AMericans, worked for free teaching music to the reservation without trying to verbally witness to them at all.IMO this is the right way to be a Christian witness. He also refused to take a bunch of money for his music, he gave a lot of it away to charity an djust accepted a regular paycheck.

Yes, I did know the other stuff. He is my favorite Christian singer. I just didn't know about the alcoholic part. .What an amazing man. Thanks!
