Kentucky governor race flips to the Democrat.

Also in Virginia the Democrats have taken the House of Delegates and the Senate.

There are not too many races of note tonight. It appears that the Missouri governorship will remain red. So it is not all losses, but to lose the governor of Kentucky is huge.

Oopsy, my state initials are bad. Mississippi, not Missouri, remains red. No surprise. But less red than in the past but still not close.

Not that any of his words are worth anything since he lies all the time, but still I did enjoy reading this from a rally in Kentucky.

“If you lose, they’re going to say Trump suffered the greatest defeat in the history of the world,” Trump said. “You can’t let that happen to me!”

Sorry, no link yet. Watching live coverage.

Here's a link: Beshear overcomes Trump effect to beat Bevin for KY gov

In the end, Attorney General Andy Beshear was able to emerge victorious in a gubernatorial race being watched as much for what it says about next year's national elections as it does about the direction of the Commonwealth.

Both men were with supporters in Louisville on Tuesday night watching as the results came in.

The Democrats -- Beshear and his running mate, Jacqueline Coleman -- placed much of their focus on Kentucky's educators and their anger over moves by the Bevin administration to make changes to their pensions.

"I believe the more Kentuckians that come out, the better our chances are, because people are hungry for a governor that listens more than he talks and solves more problems than he creates," Beshear said earlier Tuesday.

Bevin, a Republican who has polled consistently as among the least popular governors in the nation, highlighted his anti-abortion rights agenda and close ties with President Donald Trump. He switched his lieutenant governor running mate this time out to Ralph Alvardo.

Apparently, the incumbent was considered one of the least popular governors in the nation, and he also faced the wrath of teachers for wanting to make changes to their pensions.

Beshear campaigned with his father, former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, and Democratic House Floor Leader Rocky Adkins, a popular eastern Kentucky Democrat who he beat in the primary.

Being the son of a former Kentucky governor probably also helped him gain a few percentage points.

Not sure if this is a harbinger of how next year's national election might turn out.

Tried watching Fox last night for election coverage....they didn't cover the elections at all. Nothing. Additionally, I've noticed Fox has disabled comments on all of it's stories.

Can't let the herd learn any information before Fox can spin it!

I hope the Republicans can take control of Congress as well as retaining control of the White House along with the federal judicial system in 2020; otherwise, I might become an American expat who'd left the United States Socialist Republic, then to be formerly known as the United States of America, in order to avoid surrendering a substantial portion of my wealth.

Good luck. Probably every other western country out there is a mixed economy with welfare systems far more developed than USA. But then, maybe you're looking at moving to Ethiopia or something and not to any industrial developed country? I'm curious. What country would you move to?

I'd consider moving to a low-taxed well-developed capitalistic society like Singapore.

Fair enough. Appreciate your answer. Not sure I'd move there personally though. Wouldn't the life style and language be a challenge?

Singapore used to be a British colony, so English should still be a widely spoken language there. Singapore looks like it'd be a fun place for me to live.
