You think 'I had an angry theist phase, too' was passive-aggressive? Like 'you must be fun at parties'?
Yes, I do. You basically called the person an "angry atheist," and admitted that you think that is a bad thing.
It's not, at all like telling someone "you must be fun at parties." I'm kind of surprised you'd select something innocuous like that as your analogy. You honestly seem pretty much on the up-and-up from most other things I have read from you.
A better analogy would be someone posting something about how they recently moved in with their girlfriend, and now they share finances and a bed. And a converted Christian's first reply in the thread is:
"Welcome. You know I used to live in sin as well." The obvious hint there is that what this person is doing is considered "sin" by the person replying, that they feel that they are now
too righteous in their faith to do such a thing themselves anymore, and with the unspoken prescription being that the person who lives with their girlfriend should potentially rethink the situation in order to be more in line with the Christian's ways of thinking.
WHO SHOULD CARE about the Christian's ways of thinking on the topic and why? That's my question.
