‘Human rights groups have called on Ugandan authorities to "thoroughly investigate" the "horrific, brutal murder" of an LGBTIQ+ activist, as some in the African nation push to revive the death penalty for gay sex.

Brian Wasswa, who was gay and gender non-conforming, was attacked at his home in Jinja last week before dying of his injuries.

According to Sexual Minorities Uganda, the 28-year-old was "hacked in the head with a gardening tool".’

Besides the horrific tragedy that this murder is, the pathetic thing is that this murderous hatred of LGBT people is an imported monstrosity thanks to colonialism and the incursions of American Christian-right lunatics. If Ugandans really care about protecting their heritage and future in an authentic way, they'd best dump it.

They know they can't win first worlders so they go after third worlders who are desperate for something seemingly helpful, and the mix of the two becomes toxic.
