How Long Will You Be "Missing?"

I've got plans to be cyrogenically frozen as soon as the ionic currents cease flowing across my brain's neurons. If my body and brain tissues were to significantly deteriorate after my demise, this could ruin any chance of me being reanimated back to life by future scientists. I'm always in close contact with my spouse, daughter, and brother. I hope they'd promptly discover me missing upon my passing from this life in order to have me cyronically preserved for my next life..

How to Be Cryonically Preserved

I considered this, but my freezer barely keeps my Tombstone pizzas frozen.

Which leads to the point and question of this thread. If your body died today, how long would it be until your body was discovered?
I lived as a hermit for about 2 1/2 years in my early 20s. That was over 30 years ago so your question is a haunting one that relates to that period of my life as if it were yesterday. Living with family and working in a very people orientated profession, the question isn't so relevant. Perhaps the main point is how different life is as a semi-hermit or not.

This bag o bones is goin' up in smoke. Why preserve it when ya get a new one?

I bought three cemetery plots when my daughter passed away. One for my elder daughter to my left, one for me, and one for my younger daughter to my right, should she so choose (or my 'bubble' will be forever preserved).

The caveat is that none of those buried in these shall be embalmed. I'm doing my best to minimize my carbon footprint, and it was a bit of a toss-up between being buried unembalmed and being cremated.

We go with cremation ASAP so no embalming. But speaking of gold, a lot goes down 6 feet. A bunch of old war medals, amongst other stuff, went down with my parents. Gravediggers had a reason to dig I guess.

Open caskets at Tamil funerals have made me immune to the grossness of a corpse.

I considered this, but my freezer barely keeps my Tombstone pizzas frozen.

Ever since I'd experienced a freezer-burnt tasting pizza from a heated-up pre-made pizza that had been stored in my freezer, I refuse to eat any pizza that's been frozen. A pizza must be freshly made from scratch in order for me to consume. My favorite food is stuffed deep dish pizza at Giordano's Pizzeria .

Romeo's Pizza near me makes a deep dish Italiano that's my weekend go-to. If I'm in a hurry, East of Chicago has a frozen version that prepared correctly comes very close. But yeah, fresh is always better.

@SalixIncendium sorry about your friend on the OP btw.

Wow. It took two pages for someone to say that.

What's wrong with us?

I was so focused on the thread title that I disregarded the author's original post. Sorry, I didn't even think to express empathy; Me discovering a decomposed corpse is something I hope to never experience.

I know for a fact nobody here would miss me and unfortunately my family and I are not close because between deaths in the family and just growing apart, we have not forged a closer bond. I lived a decent life and have forged many relationships during my time on the planet. Whether I die alone or in the presence of someone matters not to me.

If I don't show up for work my employers will send someone out to come get me and drag me into work.

In my case it could vary widely. Anywhere from one to four or so days, depending on several factors.

A while back, I made a list of people to notify if and when anything happens to me. I believe two or so people on that list are regulars on RF. I'm sure the whole Forum would hear of my demise -- just as soon as those two sobered up from their partying.

It is an unsettling shock to discover a dead body. Hoping you are coping and not letting it get to you

Me. Married with kids so i would guess just a few hours if i croaked just after going to sleep at night. Probably less with hubby complaining that a was cold and didnt respond.

Daytime, kids at school, hubby is usually about but not always. I am in regular (often hourly or less) contact with my mentally ill brother in law. If he were unable to contact me i guess everyone would be called out to investigate.

Married, wife, son, daughter-in-law (though both working, son frequently on week-long tours, will have to rush back from wherever he is), two grandchildren, maid. My wife comes running even if I cough. I do not think my death can remain unnoticed for long.
But I would prefer to stay around at present till my mother is. She is 97.
